Dude, do you have any IDEA how it would work? It needs to follow the laws of conservation of mass and energy, and the energy required to send any object faster then 20 milliseconds would be astronomical. NOT TO MENTION THAT PLASMA EXISTS ONLY WHEN ATOMS HAVE HAD THEIR ELECTRONS STRIPPED, WHICH IS ONLY AT HIGH TEMPERATURES!
The energy required to not only accelerate but also to contain AND shield would be nearly impossible to contain in a small enough container to fit on the power suit. It simply DOES NOT FOLLOW THE LAWS OF PHYSICS! IT WOULD HAVE TO RUN AT 100% EFFICIENCY! In Halo, the plasma weapons DO overheat and DO lose accuracy over SHORT DISTANCES.(150 - 500 meters is short for any energy weapon, 500 + is long.)Not to mention that since they Do overheat means that they operate well below 100% efficiency. DON'T MESS WITH A NERD SPECIALIZING IN PHYSICS, THERMODYNAMICS, AND ATOMIC THEORY!

Possible for humans in the real world? No. Possible for the fictional and highly advanced Chozo? Very. Who says running a plasma cannon at 100% efficiency is impossible? Seeing how well Samus's cannon works, I'd say that's exactly what it does. Samus has a huge technology advantage, we've established that. Don't try to get too technical, its science in a video game, coming from a completely ficticious species who have technology simply beyond mankind.

and you realise none of the crap you just posted has anything to do with science fiction right?... *cricket chirp* 😐

You guys are making too much of it. He mentioned how the plasma beam wouldn't be instantaneous like light would and then went on a science geek tangent and you guys are tearing him apart over it. It looks like he went into that big rant because SaTsuJin called it a 'ridiculous theory' when it's true scientific fact. It may not have too much significance for the fight, but don't jump down his throat.

I didnt jump down his throat for it, but he barged in and acted like real life physics dictate how science fiction characters function, and thats not the case.. thus I called it a rediculous theory.. you cant slam real life onto fantasy.. it doesnt work... why dont we just start churning up physics for how ryu throws a hadoken?... stupid? I thought so..

The second you disreguard the laws of physics you tend to have questions that cannot be answered. All I am going to say is even you, SaTsuJiN, have to acknowledge the fact that I am saying her plasma cannon would have to require fuel and eventually require refueling therefore. 100% efficiency if impossibly because the reaction requires energy to begin with, and that energy has to come from somewhere. Oh, and SaTsuJiN, if fantasy physics are not mentioned, then real physics must apply, for pete's sake.

Of course, its always possible that a power source was developed that somehow regenerates itself, making it effectively unlimited, or one that would last so long that it could power the cannon so that when it ran out, both Samus and Master Chief would be long dead from old age. And no, real world physics don't apply to scifi/fantasy, because those who create them don't really think about the physics that would be involved.

Yeah but only Professor Membrane from Invader Zim managed to do that and it was the size of a building.

Anyways, the powersource would have to spend more power regenerating itself then actually producing power to be used. It's like a perpetual motion machine. Friction always wins. The only possibly perpetual motion machine would be a canister, perfectly sealed so that the gas it contained (oxygen or lighter) could not escape, floating over a bath (container with no walls for the canister to bump into, thus creating friction) of liquid nitrogen vaporizing at the same rate it condenses back into a liquid, so that the container could revolve perpetually on a cushion of constantly replenishing nitrogen gas. And for those who say that game designers don't really think about physics hasn't ever played Half-Life 2.

True, but do we have to tell you how many games dont use physics?

Her only advantages over him are her weapons but you dont know how powerful they are, and her "masterery war" by the chozo who lost to some space pirates with tactics of "if it moves shoot it". Samus own tactics dont seem to be much in the games other than excessive over kill with her beam weapons. While has MC has exceeded his trainners and I know you guys think humans mastery of war is lame, but in the future when we have tactics, plus the AI MC has in his head (cortana) is adept at reading the contitions on a battle field.

Where as the chozo's enemies follow a simple pattern of ABC

Where as MC has to fight the flood (no AI just lots of them and powerfull) and the covenant (have tactics and power)

and dont even get me started on SA aimbotting abilities...

chief cant even wield a simple plasma rifle after it overheats.. he's all "AHHHHH MY HAND!!" *twitch*

Oh yer your right she can wade though lava shes got that down! lol SHE STILL DIES! its not like she can withstand it for 1min and besides I think MC has enough tactical training from the simple human monkey; "Chief if you ever come in contact with lava just jump over it, simple as" but if master chief went in yes his shields would fail then he could jump out and let them recharge and jump back in a process he could step and repeat all day. where samus would have to run away and get some energy

Besides the chozo and there mastery of war probably told samus just to wade though it!!!

Master chief had faster reactions before he got his suit, with his suit his reaction time increased by a factor of five again, THEN with cortana in his head they increase again!!! and in halo2 his suit get upgraded and improved again I think you will find MC's reactions are too much for SA. who would move with all the grace of a sloth to MC
