their central nervous system is protected by their barrier, duh

If a Flood infection form penetrator can saw through Chief's armour with ease, then I'm sure that it wouldn't have much more trouble with a Metroid.

And yet there is the issue that the Metroids are much too fast to be caught by simple infection forms.

What makes you think that the Flood would send only a couple infection forms?

They'd swarm that metroid; I've seen its speed in Metroid: Zero Mission; even with that kind of speed it wouldn't stand much of a chance with a crapload of infection forms after it. Unless it flies up out of the infection forums reach.

Which it can, they are not in an enclosed hallway.

So it's pretty much a stalemate.

Metroid can't do squat, it'd be overpowered within seconds.

And the infection forms can't reach.

Damn........ OKAY, new point.

No one said it was a hundred floods vs one metroid, only you made that assumption.

And what was your assumption, that it would be one infection form versus one Metroid?

It goes against common sense. The flood never sends one little measly balloon and one only. If it's infection forms they're tossing, there's guaranteed to be a crapload.

Whereas if it's Metroids, the ratio of Metroids to infection forms is definitely not going to be in favour of the metroids.

I was under the assumption of one parasite vs one parasite, 100 floods vs one metroid would be an highly unfair fight so why should I assumed that?

They're both parasites, but you have to look at their nature. The chances of one infection form wandering off by itself are pretty much nonexistant.

And what would you consider a fair fight between the two parasites, anyways?

An army of Metroids verses an army of the flood. We should make a separate thread for this....

Well back to the subject now... Samus beats the crap out of chief, End of story.

Hazaah!

Indeed

Samus wins.

Perhaps you'd like to explain how Samus wins in the first place and the environment that the battle takes place in.

I thought that was the job of the original poster?

I'm asking his opinion.
