Karen Allen officially anounced as reprising her role of Marion Ravenwood.
See the newly updated www.indianajones.com website for a bigger clue as to what the film may deal with as well.
(hint: "It's a radio for talking to God." )
Yesss 😄 ! Cheers for that link, SithSaber; after Rhys-Davies wasn't asked back, and Connery said no, it's nice to hear that at least one of the old faces (besides Indy himself, of course) is in this movie - gives it a nice sense of continuity (and I always liked Marion, anyway). So yes - very welcome news indeed (as was - slightly OT, I know, but vaguely related - the confirmation yesterday that leonard nimoy is returning as Spock for the new "Star Trek" film!).
And I am also very excited about these rumours that
Spoiler:. Things are looking up 😄 !
the film will focus on the Ark of the Covenant once again - if so, then that will make this movie (sure to be the last "Indy" film) a nice bookend to the first
i guess everyone is excited to see the new , and i hope, final indiana jones. I mean, i love the serie , but ford is not young anymore. so it would not be very nice to see our hero at 90 years!.... now he's 62?
i've heard that guy from transformers, shia labeauf is playing indiana's son?... well, i don't like his performance at all. maybe that's why i'm not too excited about this indiana.
BUMP. 😄
New update from Producer Frank Marshall on the plot and characters:
When last we saw Indy, he was riding off into the sunset in 1989's The Last Crusade, set in 1938 near the start of World War II. The new movie, due this spring, is set at the height of the Cold War in 1957, so the character has aged in real time — 19 years.
"He's teaching and having kind of a quiet life," the producer says. Once the archaeologist is thrust back into danger, the signature Indiana Jones red line tracing across the map will take him to New Mexico, Connecticut, Mexico City and the jungles of Peru.
Despite all the gray-hair jokes (Harrison Ford is 65), Indy is still swinging from dangerous precipices and absorbing punches.
"Indy's a fallible character. He makes mistakes and gets hurt. He has a few more aches and pains now," Marshall says. "That's the other thing people like: He's a real character, not a character with superpowers."
The Nazis are no longer Indy's chief foe — he's racing for the Crystal Skull against operatives from the Soviet Union, including Oscar winner Cate Blanchett as the seductive Agent Spalko. "Indy always has a love-hate relationship with every woman he ever comes in contact with," Marshall says.
Ray Winstone, currently the star of Beowulf, co-stars as an unethical rival archaeologist. Transformers star Shia LaBeouf sports greaser hair and rides a motorcycle as the hero's sidekick.
The Last Crusade concluded without a cliffhanger, but Crystal Skull will revisit bits from other films, including Karen Allen's feisty Marion Ravenwood from 1981's Raiders of the Lost Ark.
The artifact of the title is inspired by real quartz sculptures of disputed origins that are carved in a way that defies the natural structure of the crystal.
"The theory is they are shaped by higher powers or alien powers or came from another world, or an ancient Mayan civilization had the powers," Marshall says.

Sounds good to me, classic Indy action! 👆

I guess you wouldn't like the "Young Indiana Jones Chronicles", then 😛 ; whilst I haven't either, I know that it featured actor George Hall as a 93 year-old Indiana Jones (in "bookend" scenes that I believe opened and closed each episode). See for yourself:

thanks for posting that for us.NOW my anger over Ford coming back to play the role after all this time is gone.BEFORE I was angry at Ford saying stuff like-Damn,he's too freaking old to play the part now.Why is he being a jerk and coming back and doing this when he is too damn old for the part now? well NOW after seeing that,I am not angry at him anymore because the timeframe shows that he has aged 20 years from the last time so this eases my fears and anger over his credibility on playing the role because of his age.yeah i agree, sounds good.Looking forward to it.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
For just a teaser trailer, it looks pretty good. You guys think that Ford can pull it off one more time, even if he is over the hill?
Producer Frank Marshall has confirmed that the film is set in 1957, making it nineteen years since Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, thus acknowledging the real-life passing of years between films. Indiana Jones is having a quiet life teaching before being thrust back into his old adventuring. He battles agents of the Soviet Union for the crystal skull. "The theory is they are shaped by higher powers or alien powers or came from another world, or an ancient Mayan civilization had the powers," Marshall explained. Indy's journey takes him across New Mexico, Connecticut, Mexico City, and the jungles of Peru, as well as the warehouse from the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. There will be mild humor regarding Indiana's age.
