I know, and they're no different than saying "this game looks better (especially considering they're two games with comparable graphics) and is more fun etc." so why keep arguing back and forth about it?

And it's the average of the opinions of many reviewers as opposed to from just one or two people in a forum topic.

And Blax caps at least once every now and then. That's normal of him.

yea, just picked Halo 3 up but can't play it till I get home at around 5:30.

People beat it fast in here, hu. I predict i'll own it then just as fast as well too. After all I did beat gears of war in 4 days after it came out and Bioshock practically a week after it came out. But I can't wait.

But does it really have better graphics than "Gears" and "Bio.S.", though?

No, it doesn't have better graphics than either. That's a silly claim to make, whoever is making it.

The Halo 3 trailer was in real-time was it not? I've seen no 360 game, not Gears, not anything that clearly surpasses that trailer in graphics, and I don't mean the CG commercial by the way.

I've played the game, it's nowhere near as good, graphically, as either.

As I've said throughout the thread, I think the gameplay in either of those games is vastly superior. I'd give points to Gears because it's way more dynamic.

No.

I don't think it's horrifically, terribly shit either. There are far worse games, but I sometimes feel that mediocrity is far worse, and Halo has it in abundance, in my opinion.

I'm not going to say Halo is worse than I believe it is simply because I feel it has arguably the worst fanbase of any game. I just think it's very bland and uninspired.

I do think its good.

I never liked Gears of War, and I only played BioShock for a few days, it was pretty cool. But im having more fun today with Halo 3 then I did with either of those or with Halo 2 which disappointed me.

Graphically I think its great. GoW just looked muddy and unattractive me, I know its supposed to be that way for the setting, but I just didnt care for it. Bioshock did some amazing effects work, and most of the game takes place in a good amount of darkness which helps the overall look. Halo is pushing out more characters and particle effects/explosions, some character models may look rough, but the Chief looks amazing. The enviroments and lighting effects are incredible to me.

Right now, this is the best game I have played on any of the 3 current consoles, but I need more than a day to see where I finally rank it all time.

Pick one. It's subjective of course.

There's a line between dedication and obsession. I fail to see why you'd wanna chain yourself with loyalty to a game series when games keep getting better. "It's my favourite game ever.", would suffice. Not "It's better than *Every game ever*".

The graphics not appealing to you does not mean you cannot give Gears the credit of clearly having the better graphics. It's just so painfully evident.

I prefered Goldeneye to Halo, but Halo clearly has better graphics.

Like it's single or multiplayer mode or do you mean both (overall)?

The common belief is that Halo was always more popular/better as a multiplayer game. But i always loved the campaign modes. I liked Halo 1's campaign m. over 2's though. But if it's like Halo 2 then Gears would be way better and so will BioShock. Hell Bioshock is slated to win game of the year awards across the board in it's category but Halo's just Halo, so it'll be interesting.

That being said gameplay wise its identical to the previous two and is starting to feel stale IMO.

the lighting is pretty damn good the graphics still completely pale in comparison to Gears and are much worse then Bioshock.

Take a second to read my post. Notice that I said that I find Halo 3 to be superior to Bioshock in everything except graphics. And prove that Gear's graphics are better.

Some of the texturing in this game is horrendous

As did a lot of the parts in Gears.

As far as story and gameplay goes, it doesn't blow Gears OR Bioshock out of anything, both are superior games, especially Bioshock.

That's relative. I found the Bioshock dystopia story to be boring, and preferred Halo's futuristic setting. So to me Halo's story is better. See how that works?
