People are complaining that it handles like Halo 2 well why would you change it. The controls were great for the type of game it is.
People are complaining it hasn't added anything new. It has added new things like new vehicles and new match modes. Maybe not anything like jetpacks or etc. But it did what people wanted add new weapons and items to use.
Personally the Graphics are better. It has exceptional lighting IMO. the sound quality and attention to detail is awesome. Whiel Gears may have better textures I find myself liking the overall look of Halo 3 better.
By I got to drive the Elepant on Sandtrap and loved it 😛
This is just a post chock full of excuses, to be honest.
But this part got me the most:

Seriously I see the biigest complaint about the game is that it is an upgraded Halo 2. Personally if that is the biggest problem people can think off than I do not see a problem. Halo 2 was/is a great and exceptionally replayable. Any sequel that can take an already great and tight game like that and add anything to it can not be penalized because of it..
How long are people gonna use the excuse of new vehicles? If it's taken this long and this much hype, that many millions of dollars, and all people can say is "New vehicles, new modes, but essentially Halo 2.5.", then do you not see the point? All this time, money, marketing and hype for Halo 2 with better graphics and new guns, essentially. That's why people are backlashing, and deservedly so.
There's a reason Bungie and Microsoft had to plaster Master Chief all over TV, drink cans and such, but whether or not the fans will see why is due to the epic question; to fanboy or not to fanboy? If people truly believe there's all this marketing because he's a good character and they are good games that could do as well without marketing, it's naivety.
As for the graphics, people are confusing "I like Halo's look better.", with what game actually has better graphics.
The point people are making is that this game doesn't deserve the hype nor praise it is getting. If it's a game you like or love, fine, but the hype its getting does not reflect the quality of the game.
I'm actually surprised at the amount of people truly voicing disappointment, but many will convince themselves to like it even if they don't. As someone said to me earlier;
"When a game is coming out that I am interested in, I'll say I think it looks amazing if it does, but I won't say it IS until I play it and until it proves me right. Halo 3 fans have been saying it all along because they simply know that it won't be anything amazing.".
And it's true.
I'm not in here being viciously abusive toward people OR the game, but I've already been met with many fanboyisms and rants telling me to get out, just because people can't hack the truth.
