The difference is, I've been asked for my opinion of the game, and I have said I don't think it's horribly shit. I don't dislike the game nearly as much as its fanbase. I'm not anti-Halo, I'm anti-let's make Halo out to be the best thing before, during and since sliced bread.

You prefer it, it doesn't make it a better story. There's a lot more to Bioshock than there is to Halo. Halo, at the very heart, is an alien invasion story, pretty generic. Bioshock's story, while not massively original, cannot be summed up so simply. That's not opinion. If you think Bioshock's story was shit, fair enough, but it is a more complex story than Halo.
Unless you count all the books that have been released, but were not originally intended as part of the Halo story. The GAME, the heart of the franchise, is nothing that complex.

Mario sets the standard (and sometimes raises the bar) for all games the likes of it. Games wait for Mario games to come out. Far from generic, it's a hell of an innovative game.
Its a pretty good game, not a classic, with the gameplay and storyline being easily the best parts of the game, especially the storyline which keeps you glued to your seat like a good film, however overall it comes across as just an improved halo 2 with a few extra stuff thrown in which is disappointing. You can see from some of the levels how entertaining xbox live is going to be, and thats probably the best part of the game, the longetivity on live. The graphics aren't that great (being xboxish at times) after the game being hyped off the charts, and many will be disappointed, but other parts of the game make up for it. If you have the priviledge of having a HD t.v it probably makes up for the mediocre graphics, and adds a little extra to the game.

Yea bioshock is good but also has its flaws, and i agree with you about only getting the game if you have live as it doesn't have much longetivity otherwise, as only two groups should get this game, halo fanboys or people that play live alot, both coinside to be honest.
I like playing online with Halo 3. Even though its your typical online modes like deathmatch, (oh wait, I meant slayer), but in a funny way of things, I find it refreshing because its not your typical CS clone or Battlefield clone, which it seems that every online game is now.
It's an well made game, but its basically Halo. For all the hype, its an letdown, but in reality, Halo 3 should of been the original Halo with all they praise it got.
Like I said before, Bungie should take lessons from Valve, Monolith and 2k Games Boston on how to produce a good quality singleplayer.
