i havent played this yet, and i dont intend to. didnt like either of the first two.

try this one i expect people will say, but why? theres no advances in gameplay, storyline is still supposed to be average at best... whats the point?

as a game i'm sure its good.

as a sequel, i'm sure its not great at all

Everything you just said is personal opinion. There's a couple hundrd thousand people that will say the exact opposite of what you said.

these games are good for a fps dont get me wrong but i dont care for the story. im in it for the gameplay.

i've read by several reveiwers though that the game hasnt moved on an awful lot. that doesnt make the game a good sequel. it may still be a good game, but for me a sequel has to be a good progression over the prequel. common sense really.

And what they say is nothing but personal opinion, too.

Just because a lot of people think it doesn't actually make it right.

Personally, I've always found Halo rather boring, with such a thin plot that I think calling it a plot is ridiculous.

Multiplayer can be fun on it, but I'm not a fan of multiplayer for the most part and there's no way I'd buy a game simply for that.

Finished the campaign.

I hate to admit but I actually really enjoyed it. The story is pretty good, and the action is intense.

I still hate the Flood though.

I think is pretty clear that The Flood is intended to be a hated character throught the story. I think they're meant to be the Jar-jar of the Halo franchise.

Jar-jar gets eaten by the Flood. Oooohhh....😈

I dont buy that in this case. With games like Mario which has been mentioned a lot in here, the sequels really have nothing to do with the prior games, other than Mario himself. So you can change the formula a lot without disrupting things.

But for the Halo series where all 3 games are a continuation of the previous game, it would be jarring to suddenly reinvent the game. Now when they start whatever new story arc they are planning now(not Halo Wars), thats when I say they need to do a full overhaul.

Mario games aren't actually sequels. Games in a franchise are not necessarily sequels. Pretty much as I explained already with Final Fantasy 😛

Yeah thats kinda the point I was trying to make. 😛

But they did start out going 1,2,3. 🙄

That was my point 😐

Yeah, I don't know when or how the rules change. GTA uses the roman numerical system for their sequels. When they happen to be spin offs they use titles. So if FF is all the way to XIII and is not a sequel...then something is not making sense.

Level 8 was shit, yeah?

I hated that level.

Really enjoyed the rest, though.

Level 8 was the last right?

If so, then yeah, didnt much like it, but I really enjoyed the ending sequence of Halo 3.

WD, I dont like playing against the Flood in the game. It takes what was great about the game (intense tactical battles with equipment being thrown, grenades lobbed everywhere and the vechicles segments) and bogged it down with simple characters that rush right at you. No fun.

The Flood would of been alright if they played it like the level in the city and created alot of suspense and small burst of action, but the other levels, its basically like the original Halo and not soo good, especially considering they cheaped out and gave them weapons.

It's called each series has their own naming/numbering system ermm not a complicated concept.

Level 8 was the second to last one.

Level 8 was annoying, if you didn't have the flamethrower you basically would get rushed to death by the flood.

Also did anyone find this game really tiring, some of the levels were too long....

I still havent done the campaign, I want to do it co-op but all my friends are already ahead of me. lol

Just 1 question...how exactly do you know the storyline is still average at best if you haven't played it?

Perhaps he read about it?

I played and beaten Halo 3 and the story felt rushed.
