Yes, in all honesty I think Halo 3 is the best of the Halo games as far as gameplay goes. It's just a shame they did abandon the Arbiter story, it's a shame they didn't do more with Truth. And it's a HUGE shame that the game didn't have the emotional melancholy atmosphere that the awesome advertisements suggested.
Gameplaywise, it was the best in the Halo series, by a good margin, I think.

The Matrix: Revolutions should have been wrapped up and launched into Jupiter's red eye. It wrapped up nothing but the clear and sickening change of ambition that the Wachowski's endured, from; "Ok, we have an intense, mega story that we COULD leave as an amazing single film, or advance on many of the billion possible, credible storylines hinted at.", and into "Let's try really, REALLY hard to seem smart. Like, Pink Floyd.".
Sorry, that movie really gets my goat, anyway; Halo just always seemed like one was going to be two and three. It's not hard to wrap up something so obvious. The tagline says it all; "Finish the Fight.", that's literally all it was. A three game, over $50 million budget fight between aliens and soldiers.

Oh for sure, yes, it's better. And indeed, it's not really the issue; I was simply saying in reply to that poster that you cannot disqualify Halo 3 from contention on grounds of similarity to the previous one.
Just look at the kudos Doom II got.

I enjoy it a hell of a lot more than Halo 2. Its not my favorite game, but it is very good and easily the most fun new game I have played in 2007, but I doubt it will end the year that way.
I dont really care about all this crap people are sayin, its the same as ignoring all the little 10 year old bastard kids on Live. And if people can sit here for hours and hours fighting and baiting people into arguements about a videogame, they have bigger problems than fighting with me. lol

I do really enjoy it myself. Oddly enough i had one of the most pleasing moments in a Video Game ever last week.
I had the Spartan laser and while a vehicle was ramping into the air on Sandtrap I blasted out of the sky.
It was just so satisfying for some reason. 😄

Actually I have been really lucky so far, I have had a couple games with people like that, but so far its been pretty good. Those are the two I play the most as well.
In Halo 2 I would always hear so much crap when playing team slayer. Maybe all the little bastards cant afford the game and have to wait till Xmas. 😛
I havent played in about 3 days, so hopefully they didnt invade while I wasnt playing. lol
