Is halo heading in a Starwars direction? Light sabers and lazer guns? The dark side and light side? Artificial planet detroyers? Who knows what the movie will be like, Master chief become Darth Master Chief and his son grows up and uses those swords the aliens use to overthrow him and the covenant 😖 ....It get worse by the minute.

Erm... the Halo universe and the Star Wars universe are completely different.

Actually, the humans in Halo don't use "lazers." There is no "dark side and light side" like in Star Wars. There are the humans and the religiously overzealous Covenant, which has now been divided by civil war. No clear cut "light" and "dark" there.
Artificial planet destroyers? Not in the way you're thinking. The Halos aren't offensive weapons; in fact, their sole purpose is salvation (to cut off the food supply of the parasite, the Flood).
No outside, supernatural Force. No galaxy spanning organization training Jedi warriors.
They are similar in the most basic way, just as most or all science fiction is similar. Don't really know what else you're seeing...

Swords, are very popular. People like to play as swords. However, it wouldnt' make much sense to have metal swords fighting against a race that has giant ass space ships and laser cannons. This isn't final fantasy.
As for the "one man to save everything", thats in EVERYTHING. All games and movies have that whole "Only you can save us" bullsh*t.

Meh, the whole addition of the sword annoyed me, I don't much mind the clubs in Halo 3 for the brutes, they look kinda awesome, but if we are meant to be moving forwards into the future, why add swords as a weapon of choice? 🙁 And they remind me of lightsabers, lol, that and the lazer guns the aliens hold 😛 A minigun vs a lazer gun, which would win 🙂 I always believe a minigun solves everything in war films and games, lol
I knew Halo reminded me of something, UNREAL! Remember the very first Unreal game, remember, the aliens had force field shilds attached to thier arms and used it to protect themselves as they ran around and shot you! Theres also aliens that look a tad similar to halo's aliens, the aliens and humans also drop weapons for you to pick up when they are killed 🙂 I wonder if Bungie got a bit of inspiration for Halo from Unreal, the creators of GOW ^^ Besides Unreal did come out ages before Halo 1 did and there are a few noticable similarities between them although Halo's are much more elaborated on, and the worlds look much better, but there were a few cool ideas for levels in Unreal I would have loved to play in in a game like Halo, especially using Coop. 🙂
