Yeah, it happens.
Secondly: No it's not harmless. It's harmless to those who don't give a shit. You're not a digital artist or a photoshopper, so you wouldn't care.
Lana is, so she does and what she has said is correct.
If anyone is actually going to step forth and prove Lana or myself wrong, then by all means do so.

Let's assume for a minute that you are right. What is the correct term for someine that uses the Photoshop then?
Let's recap:
The term "Photoshopped" to digital artists and people with an understanding of, doesn't mean "Created or slightly edited in photoshop." It means created digitally using multiple tools and accessories, achieving what could be considered a genuine piece of art. Not a filtered picture. Photoshop being one of the more famous programs to do it on, the term isn't exclusive to the program.

The infinitive verb 'to photoshop' means to digitally alter an image, using a program capable of doing so.
It is derived from the program Photoshop, however its usage has become generic, like 'biro', 'refrigerator', or 'launderette'. All of these were once trademarks, but they now apply generically to all things of the kind.

Photomanipulator is the technical term.
At least, that's what it's called when you heavily manipulate a photo so that it's completely different from the original. I do this, and sometimes work for up to 10 hours on a single piece.
Cropping something, or putting a filter on it, is simply editing the photo, not manipulating it.
