No, she didn't. Having quite a lot of trouble grasping what people are telling you it seems.
Out of line? Out of line is telling a digital artist how to define her own field.

I didn't jump on her though. I simply said that putting a filter on an image isn't considered photoshopping it. For some reason people decided to blow that out of proportion.

The irony of you asking for people to be polite and not jump down throats is making me laugh.
Quite a lot infact.

No she didn't what, exactly? She said she 'photoshopped' the pic. Yes, she did. No trouble here.
No one's told a digital artist how to define her own field, the point was that said digital artist chose to beat on someone because they used a term that could be considered correct. Obviously, it is still considered correct by quite a few people.
I'm just not used to seeing Lana jump down someone's throat for no reason.

Never. this whole discussion is incredibly entertaining because of it's blatant triviality. Plus, if I close it less people will see my outstanding parody of the logic being used int his discussion, and I put out a pretty decent amount of effort in my parody post.

But why do there need to be two ters describing the same thing? Photomanipulator and Photoshopper. I mean at least the Verb to photoshop should be possible to use when using the actual programme.

I would like to know how civilly pointing something out - not even in an offensive way - is considered jumping down someone's throat.
And why on earth you decided to make such a big deal about it.

It's not the relevant definition anymore, though. So she quite clearly didn't mean that did she? She meant photoshopped in the conjunction with the definition Lana uses, that digital artists use, quite clearly. If someone says "Gay", you don't think they mean "Happy" do you? No, why? Because that isn't relevant or primary today.
Exactly, she wouldn't know, so it's carelessness. She should exercise care then.
I don't put points up my ass, but I'll note that witty remark 😉. Because that's what it was, witty. Ten out of ✅.

But this is a term that is still being redefined....as digital art becomes more recognised, so is that term getting more significance, but it's not yet completely without other meanings as 'gay' pretty much is now...if she had claimed to be a digital artist because of this then fine...but she didn't...
Thank you...and after I spent so long thinking it up {note that here I did not claim to be a master at witty comments..}

They mean the same thing. Photomanipping/photoshopping something means the same thing, it means to heavily manipulate the images so that they are completely different from the original and in some cases, unrecognizable.
Cropping, adjusting contrasts, filtering - that's simply editing.

No, she didn't. You can retort with "Yes she did" all you like. She didn't photoshop it though.

Hypocricy again, tsk.
You are telling Lana that she is wrong for saying the girl didn't photoshop her pic, when Lana is quite clearly better versed and educated in the world of digital art than you are. So yes, you are attempting to tell her how to define her own field.
It's not correct though, currently. Gay meaning happy is correct, about as correct as saying she photoshopped the pic.

I wish I could say I'm not used to seeing you dive in over your head and get everything wrong, but I am.

As I said above, her "photoshopping" that pic is about as correct as the term "gay" is. Correct if you want to be anal, ironically.
Incorrect if you want to adhere to what it is NOW. So no, she didn't photoshop the pic.

AC, please don't try and turn this into something it's not. I still think you're wrong and no amount of baiting is going to make me retreat.
I said that Dances_Inside stated that she 'photoshopped' a pic, which she did. I also said that she didn't call herself a 'photoshopper', because she didn't.
Why we're fighting over someone else's harmless statements I don't know. The only problem I had was with Lana's reaction. It was overly harsh and she should have known better.
