"Can every somewhat questionable showing of Superman be attributed to him holding back? That's what I'm gathering here."

Pretty much any character can do that.

Thor has been reportadly stated to hold back on Earth for istance. CM has held back against Superman because he didnt want to hurt him. BA in that figth simply didnt wanted to figth. Etc.

It' part of his character. It's been said many times in comics over the years.

not debating that, snoop. just saying that there have been times where it seems he wasn't holding back but still didn't automatically show himself to be far beyond characters like ww and adam.

The same has been said for every single character in the top tier.
But the difference is that it's not said as much.

Batman has been just as if not more integral to JLA victories than the majority of the team.
Did Batman engage and defeat SBP? Imperiex?

Cm does not hold back against Superman. CM is always trying to prove a point to Supes that they are equals.

Supes just plays the game.

Imo: Black Adam=Superman>(SLIGHTLY) Wonder Woman

i'm not sure that angle is entirely fair juntai. supes has how many monthly books? is he still dc's most popular character? i'm just saying the way he is depicted follows his popularity and presence in so many books. it's a similar reason to why glads never saves the day in marvel but thor or hulk does. it's not necessarily because glads is weaker or les a hero, but because the popularity of the others dictates they're the ones who will save the day.

It obviously won't be said as much considering Captain Marvel doesn't even appear regularly in any book at the moment. The last time we saw a significant CM appearance was the Day of Vengeance special in January. The last time we saw a significant Superman appearance was today.

You have no bearing in saying CM never holds back Snoop. They had more figths than just the one that resulted in one of the armwrestling matches that you post often.

Against Eclipso Superman in the first time he was holding back until the end. In the last figth he pretty much held back as well.

No but Batman did defeat more White Martians in the initial JLA arc than Wonder Woman and J'onn Jonzz did. jockey

If thats true your statement doesnt resolve nothing or put an end to the fact that supes holds back bare with me while i lay an example.

E.G. say someone like the silver surfer fights someone like thor and they both hold back lets say they are on even footing so surfer decides to cut lose and so those thor who do you think walks away with both thier legs the surfer does thats who.

Now the point of that example was to simply indicate that two fighers may hold back but once they are going all out ones strenght might increase vastly than anothers. So maybe a lot of powerful Top tier Heros hold back but whats to say when supes doesnt thaty he doesnt reach crazy new heights of power.

And how does that threat measure against the arcs I named? You're talking about team-books filled with a team relying on Batman because his brain and money are the only thing he can truly lend to the team, disregarding the fact multiple members of team are probably as smart/calculating as he is.

When looking at the respective power level difference between lets say Bruce Wayne and your standard herald level White Martian, pretty highly. That's easily greater than the difference between Superman and Prime who for all his power, shat himself at the reappearance of Bart Allen who I'd say outperformed everyone in IC #7.

There's a lot of Batman hate aroung here.
