I loved his fight with Orion as well, it was exactly how Orion-Darkseid fights should go. Darkseid taunts Orion, Orion surprises him with his skill and strength and after a long brawl Darkseid gains the upper hand but not before commenting about how proud he is of Orion. I've always believed that deep down Darkseid really wishes it could have been Grayven or Kalibak instead of Orion who became a warrior of New Genesis, its clear Orion's the favorite in spite of everything.

he knocked darkseid through a couple of buildings, then knocked him down in to the street, creating a crater. when he asks if darkseid's had enough, the mad god pulls out an agonizer or whatever it was called, and paralyses superman.
lex is what stops darkseid, not superman.

It was one of darkseid better fight against Supes but he lost. I agree though, he did toy with him which lead to his defeat.
I dont think Orion fight took any kind of toll on Darkseid because he ended that quickly.
