Pope John Paul II dies

Started by Jedi Priestess18 pages

Oh and thanks to whomever changed the title of the thread. 🙂

For some odd reason my BF and his family were brought up being taught the wrong shit from the bible, he said something about a 3rd of the world dying because the pope died. Something or other...cant remember what all he said but it wasnt true, I finally calmed him down...his sister broke up with her boyfriend for it, and I was like OMG that's stupid...I told them to Enjoy Life, Stop Worrying

No offence, but the man did nothing for me.

He had a very long and favoured life, with MANY people's love and respect. It's not like some man in his 20s was assassinated. He died naturally at the end of a long and important (to many) life.

So I don't see what the huge deal is. I respect that he done alot for others, but he hasn't got my respect because he's not done anything that I think deserves it. I mean no disrespect in saying that, it's just the truth.

i agree

Deano I got your point the other 30 times you made it, I think you are just trying to piss people off now. 🙄

It's a matter of respecting the feelings of the people that it does matter to A.C. Kind of like if a family member of yours passed away I'm sure you wouldn't want people to say bad things about them. To many Catholic's the Pope was a member of their family so to speak. He was very conservative and although I'm Catholic I didnt agree with him on some things, but that doesnt mean I dont think he was an exceptional person. But as someone said in a matter of days they will elect a new pope and the Catholic community will move one. Oh and one more thing, a Pope doesn't have to die in office. Some have stepped down upon becoming terminally ill and they were very sick I think.

Like I said in my previous post, people viewed him as (despite him not being one) a family member, I didn't. He did nothing for me.

I respect that people are upset, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna start saying "Oh a very great man has died", because that's not what I believe. A man has died, who to many, was great. To me, he wasn't.

how am i suppose to know that u have got my point
maybe i am tryin to piss people off
30 times? no need to exagerate love 🙄

Apologising for the church's mistakes aren't anything to me because I'm nothing to do with the church anyway.

Like I'm part of the church 😉 THe church has made a lot of mistakes that are overlooked by people and some that make me mad at the church, however by apologizing, it makes my feel that he cared about people who aren't part of the church. I do not like the Church however i respect him. Plus that opinion was referring about me not anyone Else.

The world is losing leadership, we need some good old skewl leaders back to shape this world back together. Meaning better presidents, another great pope, and some real good proper pop icons. Humanity without some sort of leadership will go no where. I am talking about any type of leader here, any type. I think the next pope should make the church more modern, i think humans will make a big mistake if they turn there heads against religion. Religion is needed because man needs to fear a higher power.

I dont think anyone expects you to say he was, I think they just want to post their sympathies and not get drawn into an argument by the people who dont agree with them. Well most of them anyway.

Religion is needed because man needs to fear a higher power.?
in other words, religion controls the minds and limits the thinking of people from all over the world. religions were designed to imprison the mind and engulf the emotions with fear and guilt.

😉

No one expects you to believe anything. Everything we all say isn't only going towards you Ac. I am saying i respect him, you say you do no not and there is no conflict here.

Oh that's sad. But he was sick, i'm glad he doesn't have to suffer anymore.

Im catholic but I only heard of his name until a few days ago 😮

no need to look for other people

I really think material laws can't control humans. If humans could do anything they wanted which is not punishable by material laws, the world would be in ruin. I remember once i was a party and they offered me a smoke. I wondered would God want me to waste my life away so i can enjoy some taste that lasts a few moments in my mouth. I declined it.
The human mind needs to be somewhat controlled because it can lead to the very good or very bad. Its like free speech, but that it is somewhat controlled for the good, because some loonies can take advantage of it and we have seen dire consequences from it.

That doesn't make sense, if humans want to do a large movement against something they need someone in charge. It would be total anarchy. How would that help the world.

You see were looking at the meaning of life. Do we follow sects, cults, religion or do nothing and just "live". None of us can answer that question, and if you do you are a fool.

Hahahaha.

The last thing humanity needs to fear is something that might not even exist. We've got enough real shit to keep us afraid.

ive had those feelings before manny...ive gone to do somethin and then i immediatly think..what will god think if i do this...oh i better not do it cos i dont wanna go to hell....am i brainwashed?

Those who refuse to believe this hogwash are condemned to stoke the fires of hell for all eternity. Staggeringly, billions upon billions have fallen for this scam over thousands of years, and still do. That’s fine if they want to give their minds and their lives away, but many insist that everyone else must do the same and that’s not fine. Seriously not fine. Most of
the people reading this book will be from the parts of the world dominated by Christianity and Judaism and so I shall take those as the main examples of how symbolic stories have become literal truths and how the manipulation of these stories has produced the most powerful form of mass mind control yet invented.

Religion always existed, and as long as there are people who will believe them, they WILL live on........
