Pope John Paul II dies

Do you currently wonder if the world will end in a hail of nuclear fire brought about by the US or Soviet Union?

LOL...actually, don't answer that. You could. We all should.

Not gonna ASSUME what you're implying but it seems that with the last line, you were trying to say that if I COULD believe something, everyone should believe that same thing?

Or not? I'm not gonna assume. Hence my asking.

I heard he got hit by a truck on his skateboard 😐

Hey, these people have you paranoid mate. I asked the question about nuclear war. Then, it dawned on me that I don't know you well enough to say that you don't worry about nuclear war. Then it occured to me that maybe people don't worry about the US and Russia going to the extreme of nuclear war, but nuclear war is still a possibility and people should worry.

Well...on that topic. I believe we're at the safest we've ever been with regards to world wars or nuclear fallout. Purely because everybody has access to nukes, there's no point in using em. They're still deterrents and due to the fact that everyone has them, nobody wants to get nuked.

😉

his funeral will be quite a sight to see i heard. 150 heads of state(almost everyone) 2 million people and hundreds of millions watching on TV. Its the biggest death to hit the world since Diana. i heard there were hundrends of thousands there to see his body.

It's a shame that someone like Diana is even graced with near Pope-level sorrow when she died. Was absolutely despicable.

Little girls crying and screaming "Diana no!" when they hadn't the faintest clue who she was.

Many things died that year, not including Diana.

am i the only one that finds it a bit morbid that 10's of thousands of people seem more interested in filing past his body to take pictures rather than to pay homage

Yeah.

Makes them feel like they actually followed the Pope's life and didn't just jump on the bandwagon. Or Popemobile, more appropriately.

i am just comparing, people!!!! However the amount of people who Diana funeral was huge.

Anyways this pope will get a large funeral of a grand scale.

woh 35,000 stories in 24 hours.

I heard 3 million people will come to Rome. Rome is overflowed by people.

Nuh-Uh, he was on his BMX.

Yea and standing in line for 7 hours to see his body for 7 seconds. I'd have better things to do.

Anyways He was quite a good pope, altho some of his views were very radical. I think the next one is gonna be a latin-american it aint gonna be an african far more catholics in Latin and south america

if was in italy i would just go to his funeral instead.

Oh man, you could rob so many people and nothing would happen

Is anyone else sick with the news at the moment? For the last 4 days it's been nothing but 'Pope-pope-pope'!...'CNN' is currently the preferred acronym for the 'Catholic News Network'.

i'm not sick with it.
but if it will make you feel a bit less 'sick' about your news..
in our tv we don't have anything but this infos. no adverts (!), no shows, no anything.
in radio there is only calm music playing.
mtv-like stations has been not working on sunday
and on friday whole country has day off.

and the fact that you don't like this stuff, or you are non-catholic
it doesn't mean you shouldn't give some respect to the good man, who made a lot for ppl all over the world.
(sorry, if fidel castro gives him respect, you could be human enough and did too)

He did some good, but his conservative views also caused muchos bados.

However, that's not the point...the point is the current state of the media's infatuation with all things papal. It is understandable if they want to report something about it, but constant, 24-hour coverage is a little too much, me thinks...
