KOTOR III

The fact that they were thinking about making several games has absolutley no bearing on my commentary about the plotline at all. So that being the case, just read my post again.

Really,do u really think they would let i hit store shelves with a story line that didn't make any sense and most importantly ended in a cliffhanger? And then after that they would just say" well obsidian you guys messed every thing up so we're just gonna hope this blows over that every one with forget that pissed off feeling that they felt they when they beat that game"

that ending and that whole kotor 2 story line was an almost guarantee of a third kotor.

It's a company, companys do retarted things.

It was a mistake to make it directly connected in continuity, in all honesty. KOTOR's plot worked fine as a stand alone, and there is a heck of a lot of the galaxy and history to set an entirely different story in.

Had they made a congruent Story that made sense, the game would have made a good sequal.

There was no overall idea of where KOTOR 2 was going, no plan for the sequel before 2 was done. They were improvising ad they went along. The Star Wars films were different- there was a base plan for the whole story in there right from the start.

There was an overall Idea, they just didn't properly convey it in a congruent way to the player. They knew what they wanted, they just failed at making it.

And my apologies for the double post.

i do not think that a company as big and sucssesful as lucasarts could fail so hard with the entire kotor franchise at stake, then just try and forget about it.

Yea, it's doubtfull, but it is still possible. It could just be that they may may not see the posibility of enough money coming from it to even attempt another one. Or they could be waiting untill they can get some beter writers, or find a company with beter writers to write a decent story that would fix Kotor 2 and make KOTOR 3 an exelent game. OR they could be waiting untill the perfect moment thet, with proper advertising, they could actually sell enough KOTOR 3 copies that it will make making it worthwhile. or maybe they are just trying to forget about it. Or maybe a flying monkey from space told them that if they made KOTOR 3 he would destroy Canada, I don't know, but anything's possible (except maybe that last one 😛).

Or maybe, if optimism is to be trusted, they are developing the KOTOR MMO as KOTOR 3.

Great.

Ganking, Lagging, Spamming and Exploiting game mechanics!

Just what makes Star Wars excellent!

It's optimistic to say that they are creating a KOTOR MMO

I would like that very much.

As would I, but It would be less likely than a KOTOR 3 game.

Not only is it doubtful its very very unlikely, you've got to realize that some one job depended on it. Not only one person but possibly 2 or 3 people and managers at that. Maybe thats why it took so long to produce a third kotor.
Or maybe Obsidian sabotged the project😱

errrm i remember on a recent interview the person being interviewed said they couldnt say anything because of a NOC or something like that

it means they have an agreement not to tell anyone
now when theres a agreement, theres a secret that theyre keeping.

link me.

**** lucasarts, they just let us all down. I for one, am going to reiterate that I'm not holding my breath and am gonna play more gta IV, a good game that is actually making a big company a lot of money.

the mmo has been done, sorry, its called glaxies, no matter how hard galaxies sux. I would rather have server based pvp gameplay like most fps's instead of a grand, overlong, overpopulated with trivial go-fer quests like mmos. i like that about kotor, they didn't try and make it needlessly long with retarded and unnecessary quests.

that would be the way to do a kotor multiplayer. with servers. and you could use the profile that was leveled up in singleplayer so that your items and stuff was relevant to the multiplayer, but the main quest was done in singleplayer.

and if you just wanted to multiplayer, you could use kills of other players to buy items like lightsabers and armor. in the same way you would get exp from multiplayer, only multiplayer and storyline would be seperate, like it should be.

Well, the thing is though, with a big company like Lucas arts, or Obsidian, or Bioware, etc. keeping a few people in their jobs is irrelevent to runing the company. If they don't see the possibility to earn enough money from making KOTOR 3 to turn a sizable profit, then they will not make it, regardless of who's job depended on it.

It's funny though, companies expect loyalty from their employees, but show none in return. That's why I have hated every job I ever had.

I'm saying it was someone responsibility and if they didn't make sure kotor 2 was right they would of lost their jobs, and they knew that when they were producing the game. Thats probably why they lost their jobs. Because they didn't do a good job.

Now you could say that they did care as much because they knew they were going to be laid off, but that is very unlikely. There may be other reasons like lack of man power combined with lack of time, and my personal favorite lack of organization.

Or you can have it like gta IV multiplayer except over the entire galxay and you would have do quest to moblize the sith/republic fleet or try to hunt the jedi down. And there would be tons of other game modes like find the holocrons, cops and robbers smuggling missions, co-op, co-op quests, fight for the control of 1 world via darkside light side infulence, or maybe small mmo worlds instead of one huge one, and much much more.
