Deceiving
I sit here talking with you,
A mischievous twinkle in my eye,
A smile constantly on my lips,
As we make each other laugh,
And there is some blushing,
As we flirt even deeper,
Go farther than we’ve gone before,
Wondering just how we got there at all,
And even though I seem to be,
Only a ditzy, flirty teenager,
I am really so much more.
I can be very intelligent,
That is when I want to be,
I just always want to have fun,
And I seem to laugh all the time,
I’ve heard my heart shines through,
In many of the things that I do,
And I truly hope that it does,
Because once I start something,
It back it with all that is me,
Never letting myself back down.
My heart is known to many,
From the works that I’ve written,
And the comments that I’ve posted,
I don’t like to hide it from my friends,
And as long as it beats in my chest,
Love will flow freely from it,
Though I just may be too trusting,
As I found out the hard way,
That is the way I have been made,
And that’s the way I am going to stay;
I change for no one.

Many names am I known by,
Prankish elf,
Playful minx,
Evil little imp,
Mysterious fairie,
I am none of these things,
I am all of these things,
My spirit is untamed,
Running free like the wild mustang,
No man has yet caught me,
I manage to slip through their grasp,
Time, and time, and time again,
For my reflexes are very quick,
My mind a well-sharpened tool,
One moment I am there,
And the next I have vanished,
Disappeared into the light mists,
So if you think you’ll be the one,
Go ahead, give it a good try,
I dare you, I’ll be waiting,
Maybe you’ll be the one to do it,
Few have managed to nearly complete this task,
A thing easier said than done,
If you can manage to hold me,
You must be quite the man,
With a man and spirit wild enough for my own,
And forever would I be loyal to you.

Come To Me
Come to me when you need a friend,
A virtual shoulder to cry on,
A sympathetic ear for your troubles,
Someone you can talk to,
And trust to tell no one,
If you want to keep it confidential,
For I’ve had my own share of troubles,
And may be able to relate to some of yours,
I won’t ever laugh at what you say,
Or make fun of anything you tell me,
Because a person’s troubles are no laughing matter,
So I will listen to all that you tell me,
I’ll see if I can help you out or not,
And if I don’t know how to fix the wrong,
I may know some people who can help,
I only want to help you get through,
So please forgive me if I seem nosy,
I only want to make you feel better,
To get you laughing and smiling again.
I don’t do this to draw attention to myself,
To make myself look really good,
Or to try and make a bunch more friends,
I honestly just want to help people,
Because someone needs to help the sad,
The depressed, the suicidal, the heart-broken,
Just like I was helped in these situations,
And if I can do anything to improve,
The life of even a single man or woman,
I will count myself one of the fortunate,
And I hope others feel this way too,
And are helping to make the world better,
Even one single person at a time.
