Asians: The Most Stereotyped Race on Earth?

Yes I do, why you need a little help with that word?

i hate it when people stereotype asians, specially indians and pakistanis{well there is a lot of truth to it but some people here are different than that[specially the newer generation]}

I was just gonna say what Fece did.

Stereotypes exist because there is truth to them.

For example: In East London there is a very very high number of families that originate from Bangladesh. Now, there is alot of racism towards those people. They are called "Pakis", short for Pakistani (which is obviously just dumb in so many ways) and are often looked at with distaste for many reasons. Not just racial.

However, the common conception is that the males, particularly from early to late teens, are troublemaking foul mouthed morons who cause disruption. I don't generalise and I have gone to school and known some fantastic and really cool Bangladeshi guys and girls. However, that is a stereotype that I've found to be very true. I don't go by it because I'm lazy, I go by it because they have give me reason to. I remember growing up I used to wonder why people thought that way, then I grew up and discovered why. Most of the disruptive, obnoxious and violent kids I went to school with were Bangladeshi males, alot of the gang violence around my town was kicked off by or involved gangs of Bangladeshi males and they would often spray anti-any race other than theirs slogans on the walls of estates that they lived.

Point is, a stereotype is existing because there's truth to it. I know some great Bangladeshi youths as I said, but they are, from my experience, the minority. The stereotype, from my P.O.V, rings true.

So before you get all hyped and deny it because there's a stereotype, look into why it's there before you decide.

Dude that runs the corner store next to my house is from Bangladesh.. he's a pretty cool guy. Other than that.. really don't know any Bangladeshi people. But we have a lot of Caribbean people around here like Haitians and Jamaicans and S. American people like Mexicans and Colombians. There are stereotypes for all of them. People say a lot of stuff about Haitians.. like saying the can't drive, they eat cats, they practice voodoo, etc..

For the most part, those stereotypes are a bunch of bullshit.

Yeah, like I said, I know some awesome Bangladeshi people. They're around. Just saying from my experience, that age range stereotype holds true here. Although it's not anywhere near as bad now.

Asians have small you-know-whats

This is generally true...Not that I've seen many, but I've had 4 asian girlfriends and they initially have trouble handling my size. Plus, condoms here are ridiculously small and I have to go to specialist shops to purchase them...AND finally, if you go to a swimming pool the 'stereotype' is reinforced...So, I guess it's biological.
They all know martial arts

Well, the art originated in Asia, so it is more common for someone to know a type, be it Tai-chi, Kung Fu, etc...

They're all good at pong

Most Asians who live in Asia live in densely populated urban areas, so space for recreation is scarce...Hence, the popularity of a sport you can play in a living room...You are talking about table tennis, right?

They're all Chinese

The Chinese are the dominant ethnic strain in Asia.

They all look alike

The gene pool of Asia is not as widely mixed as in the West due to ideas about tradition and cultural heritage. Generally, they are a more homogenous ethnic group. However, most Asian people in Asia think Westerners all look alike!

They all are good at math.

Countries with a strong Chinese heritage place a huge faith in the use of an abacus during the formative years of a child's mathmatical learning. This explains the excellent level of their ability. I have taught some kids who were 8 years old and could do difficult, long multiplication in their heads in a matter of seconds! It really is amazing...

What's the last time anyone has seen a movie with an Asian person that DOESN'T somehow involve martial arts?

Sideways...pretty recent movie.

Of course, all my statements are broad and general, but they are formed from the experience of living in Asia.

Finally, Asians are also some of the most hospitable people you will ever meet. They are always willing to welcome someone and place a great faith and respect in the value of good teaching. Also, most of the ladies are pretty damn beautiful with amazing bums and perfect skin.

Peace.
What this guy ^ said...

Agreed.

actually meant to comment on this earlier...

😆 😆 😆 i love how you threw the part about yourself in there thats frickin awesome man 😂

to all those who've posted that asians are small... are generalizing to an obscene degree... i myself am not small at all

i'm actually 5'8''....😛

(about my comment about the irish guys having small you know whats)

we did not... 😠

and yes, we have a lot of negative stereotypes...

I have heard that stereotype about the irish men before, but i have to say i've never met one who was.... so it wasnt meant to be an insult, just something to add

They are great actors from all races. In India there is a great actor who was the king of the film industry there for 18 years. He also has a large audience outside india.

I believe you're talking about Shah Rukh Khan, but you're forgetting Amitabh Bachan. The man is a legend.

Also, they're discussing whether or not people from different countries can act certain roles in Western movies as well as their Western counterparts.

I hope the tooting of horns pun was intentional...

The Indian aint all that far behind

The other stereotype is that all Japanese people are good at video games.

If any of you have actually been to Japan you'd know that the popular after school activity for most of the youth has something to do with amusement arcades. Even adults.
