Depends on how liberal one has to be to be considered a liberal pope but there are certain cardinals who e.g. support the use of condoms to counter aids and so on... If one of those would become pope I would call that (in perspective to the other candidates) a liberal pope
I understand entirely the term "liberal Pope". I simply disagree with the supposed definition.

ya but some people act as if every priest out there is a child molestor. Ive had great relationships with my priests. None of em ever tried to pull a fast one on me (and im fairly good looking by the way if any women out there are interested). So i know there are good, genuine priests out there.
I'm aware that not all priests are guilty of this crime. But, when they work for an organization that has been shown to know about the problem, cover it up and pay off the victims to buy their silence, then I have a huge problem with that. Guilt by association is a sad thing, but valid none the less.
As for knowing priests who are loving, genuine and descent human beings, I have known many. I went to catholic school my whole life. I know of many wonderful people who are devout catholics: followers, priests and nuns. But, the problem comes in that these descent people in teh church should have demanded immeaditate action that begged the forgivness of the victims, punished those responsible, and changed the policies that govern these matters from an administrative point of view. I'm all into forgivness, but forgivness doesn't have to equate with innocence.

The new pope looks scary...or maybe it's just me...:/
I must be part of his character to look a bit intimidating. The guy from what I understand is Theological and Orthodox to the holy writings. So he is bound to look very serious. He kinda reminds me of one of my former Philosopher teachers in school. Very petrefied serious image they tend to hold.

True the definition is a tad faulty, but my knowledge of the english language is too limited to give it a better definition. I also think "liberal" in its political meaning covers too big a load

guess the cardinals are gonna party tonight, yet another old geezer elected pope who is against people living together without getting married. What the hell? this guy lives with 183 other guys so he better marry one of them to at least have some credebility
😆 that had me laughing out loud.
I wonder why there are no scandinavian cardinals?, well I guess the reason why Norway doesnt have one is mainly due that a Norwegian king who defied Rome was excommunicated and the whole country was declared an interdict this happened in 1185, this interdict wasnt actually lifted before Pope John Paul II lifted it on his visit here in 1989, guess we are too much of heathens to have a cardinal, but Sweden and Denmark wonder why they aint represented in the vatican

Holland went against the Vatican too, and we still had a Dutch pope, then again the Vatican was to afraid to excommunicate us because of what could happen in this country and others if that would happen...
