Exactly. I thinkn that the age of consent should be consistant from state to state and that anyone involved in sexual relationships with people under that age, should be dealt with accordingly. When I was 21 I dated a guy for about two months before I found out he'd been lying to me. He wasn't 19, he was 17. He just didn't want to scare me off, so he lied. But, even that age difference kind of creeped me out.

I think having a national age of 18 fits perfectly in the US legal system.

Like I said in the other thread Robtart, yes..parents should have a say, but not the government. (Unless its under 14)

Parents have every right to regulate thier child's sex lives, until they reach whatever age the teen becomes "legal"

Im taking about the real stuff that makes most normal people sick, this is wrong and iv'e always felt so, or atleast since i could build an opinion on such matters.

Though the case mentioned above is more funny than anything because he himself does or did not change just your perception of him, im 17 and am often asked to go to bars, clubs and such by girls much older than myself who follow a passion for karate like me.
I also find there offers more funny than anything.

The young man in question never was the person he was presenting himself to be. It was not the young man who changed, but the perception of him that changed.

Actually what I said was that it "kind of creeped me out". Not because of a certain number, but because of the several numbers that existed between his true age and the age he'd been telling me. It wasn't an issue of legal v. not legal. It was North Carolina so I'm sure there was something illegal about the whole situation. But it was odd to know he'd been lying and that he was just a year on the other side of legal.
