Just saw this..........
Who's going to be a movie star?
Thu Sep 11 03:46PM by TV EditorIt looks like it's all systems go for a big-screen version of Doctor Who following reports that David Tennant is keen on the project.
Newspaper reports say that Tennant will sign up for a movie version of the hit series as part of the deal to return for another full-length TV run of the sci-fi hit.
But don't expect Billie Piper or Catherine Tate to be joining the Doctor in the TARDIS as the show's outgoing producer Russell T Davies wants Catherine Zeta-Jones to play his companion.
Davies, who was responsible for reviving the hit series in 2005 said: "Being from Wales myself, I'd love to have Catherine Zeta-Zone a companion for the Doctor. To have anyone else would be inconceivable." Inconceivable? Hmmm... we think he may have had his tongue firmly in his cheek when he said that - or maybe not. Who knows?
Do you think a new film version of Doctor Who will prove to be a blockbuster? Who do you think should play his companion? Let us know what you think...
I am in need of solid evidence before I jump up for joy.
I have most of the classic Who dvds apart from The Aztecs and the McCoy releases but one big ommission from my collection has always been the Ecclestone season.
Well today i bought the box set for £25 at Zavvi and after having a drink in Manchester city centre me and my gf walked past a trendy resteraunt in town and guess who was outside...Phil Collinson! with the guy from the Kylie episode with the big eye as seen on Harry Hill and Corrie.
Luckily a traffic warden was nearby so i nabbed his pen and got Phil to sign the windows of the tardis on the box.
He was a bit surprised that i had the box set on me but very friendly.
Itll be nice to see Donna but again it ruins the ending of the last series much like Billys return ruined Doomsdays final scenes.

Wha? The console room in the new series is MUCH better than the TV movie, the effects are better, the dialogue's better, the acting's better, the plots are better, the continuity is better, the camerawork is better, and so on and so on.So says the guy who likes the episodes with Adric.
LOTTL is one of my all time favorite Doctor Who episodes, and, imo, is one of the Master's greatest stories, next to stuff like "Terror Of The Autons", "Longopolis", "The Deadly Assassin", and so on.
Several episodes with Adric are considered classics (incidentally, nice one there on mentioning (though misspelling) Logopolis, which IS one of Adric's stories... do try and pay attention to your own posts, because that gaffe was a pretty dumb one), whilst LOTTL is generally considered to be one of the worst stories of all time. Which is because... it is, it is godawful.
And you are just not showing any darn sense now about the console room! They spent a ridiculous amount of money on it in the TVM and it looks like a film set. In contrast, NONE of the stuff in the tv series looks at film quality, and attempts to match film-style special effects have been ropey.. You are simply lying to yourself. That kind of thing needs much more money. A BBC production will never have the cash or time to create effects of such quality and it only makes you look rather silly to keep pretending that it does.
Rumours are all over the place for the specials, so I would recommend cuation.

Nobody considers LOTTL the worst besides you. Same when it comes to calling the Adric episodes 'classic'.
Everyone I know that saw LOTTL thought it was one of the best stories of the new series, and I agree. The Master was just amazing, and you really got to the heart of the Doctor.
YOU just called an Adric episode classic, you klutz! Go back and read what you said again. My word you make a fool of yourself! You actually do not know what you are talking about, do you? Are you even paying attention to what you are typing? You just reel off second hand info with no idea about what it means.
And you are fooling yourself- many many people think LOTTL is the worst. Check out the fansties too- it was an absolute crisis in fandom when it was shown. When you actually go and get a clue about what you are talking about, you will be worth talking to.

No. I said that only YOU thought the Adric episodes were classics.
And klutz? Seriously? God, you are immature. How old are you? Seven? Kinda sad, really. "Grr, we don't have the same opinion! I'll just make up random untrue facts and constantly insult him! Yeah! That'll show 'em!"

When you mean boom, I guess you mean you and some other random guy.
And, of course, more insults over a television show.
Are you bothering to follow this conversation properly? Having berated me for liking Adric episodes, as I already pointed out to you, you then named 'Logopolis' as a classic- which is an Adric episode. I agree, btw- Logopolis is a good story. Completely undermines your argument though, doesn't it?
Again- do the courtesy of reading posts properly. If you are not going to do that you have no business replying to posts at all. You've made a fool of yourself with this Logopolis thing- keep on making yourself look silly, by all means. I used 'klutz' to be mild- your display of idiocy in this thread deserves far more.
Feel free also to check out Outpost Gallifrey and the massive meltdown that occurred when LOTTL was shown, so much that people were petitioning Stephen Moffat directly to not let anything like that happen again. The uproar was all over the net.
See, I am talking facts here, where you are talking ignorant nonsense. Again- actually biother to know what you are talking about before opening your mouth to argue against me, or I will demolish your specious nosnense some more.

I'm tired of your crap. Not only are you EXTREMELY hypocritical, but you won't stop insulting me and telling me how wrong my opinions are. And don't give me this respect crap. You've lost that from me.
My record of demonstrable facts is inside every post I made. You simply lying and saying I am not giving facts when I have been does not change that at all. You can hold whatever opinions you like, but you keep making foolish errors of fact which I call you out on.
Now, what *I* am tired of is your spam posting in here now, with you editing quotes to deliberately flame with no contribution to the debate. Keep that up and you will be warned.
