And even more in the second part! Bloody hell- for a kid's programme, you had to be in your 40s to get the full nostalgia whack out if that...

Clips from the First, Second, Third, Fourth and Tenth Doctors, with a whole lot oif enemies from the Third and Fourth.

The new monster bad guys were a fair idea as well, and the puppet design could be seen as a homage to the old days...

It is a very good programme, especially for children, one of the, well probably the best children's series on television in Britain.

Oooo just pre ordered the soundtrack for Series 5, it's out on the 8th of November. Finally.

Want.

Gotta watch that SJA 2-parter as well. I don't mind blatant pandering to fans if I'm a horribly addicted fan.

It's 2 discs too. Out in a few days time. 🙂

Not gonna lie, I already have a few different versions of Smith's new main theme in my music library. And a midi version, and a written score of it for piano, etc. etc. However, I love supporting stuff that's awesome, so I'll be buying it.

In related news, I play the violin and record stuff for fun every now and then. It's crappy sound equipment, but seems to turn out ok. I've already recorded a full version of the main DW theme music, complete with epic choral-style intro from the "The Stolen Planet" intro from the end of Season 4 (starts when Rose lightning-bolts to Earth, for reference). And I'm recording the new "Doctor theme" sometime between now and X-Mas. I will post them once finished.

I see you guys in America don't have to wait long for this years Doctor Who Christmas special, it's going to be shown just a few hours after it is shown in Britain on the day. 🙂

The song "Time to Say Goodbye" duet with Andrea Bocelli, was it used in the last EP with Tennant?

Just had a random daydream where a future version of Captain Jack showed up as the main villain for an entire DW season. Would be pretty fun, and cool imo.

Cool.

So, what'd everyone think?

I liked it but it was great.

Eh. It was certainly funny and there were some great lines in it, but overall I was definitely not a fan of the episode.

America sucks. I wait to legitimately purchase the seasons, but may need to stream this somewhere online because I have a notoriously hard time finding the X-Mas specials on DVD. The first 2 Tennant specials are the only episodes I've never seen since the reboot.

Try ordering them online?

I got every Doctor Who EP and specials for Tennant from Best Buy (in store).

Just got around to watching this years X-mas special and found it quite good this year.

Just finished the christmas special and I really enjoyed it. Seems like their spending more money on the special effects with the new doctor.

I also recently saw Children of Earth and holy moly talk about depressing, but very well done. Those were my first episodes of Torchwood I have seen.

It was decent but nothing memorable for me.

So the BBC America marathons over the Holiday break have me absolutely addicted to this show.

I'd like to know, how long's it been since Eccleston left? His Doctor was on PBS a few times and I enjoyed it then, but I didn't make the connection that this rox until I saw Tennant.

I think Tennant lasted about 4/5 seasons (two or three with Rose, one each with Martha and Catherine Tate) so about 5/6 years I'd say.

Also, some episode reviews:

An Unearthly Child.

Dalek.

There's only been five seasons of the new series. David Tennant was in three of them - one with each Companion.
