Why Prayers Aren't Answered.

Been reading a new book, The Isaiah Effect. It discusses how the changes in editing the scriptures in the 4th century changed much of the meanings of what should of been conveyed. There were so many changes that whole ideas were lost, and until the Dead Sea Scrolls, historian and theologians were not aware of much of it. They knew they had been edited because the "whole" was found in the jars and scrolls.

One interesting thing that was found was about prayer...

The phrase: Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you.
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask and ye shall receive, That your joy my be full.

Now..How times have we asked in prayer and we have not gotten it?
It seems that God does NOT answer most prayers...WHY?

The original re translation in Aramaic version:

All things that you ask straightly, directly...from inside my name, you will be given. So far you have not done this. Ask without hidden motive and be SURROUNDED BY YOUR ANSWER. Be enveloped by what you desire, that your gladness be full.

What the authors of the book has found doing much research is that the reason that our prayers aren't answered is because we are only speaking words that have no power..Looking at the original sources we are missing some aspects of prayer....in short, we need to speak it, feel its outcome with as many of our 5 senses as we can and accept that it has happened... For example, if you were going to pray for rain..You'd imagine what the rain feels like on your skin, what it smells like, what it feels like to walk in the muddy road, how the crops would grow with the rain, how the air would taste, and then thanks God for the opportunity of asking and believing it to be so....BTW, the rain story was confirmed and later that day, they did get rain in a long drought area...

And you never say things like. Please give me...You say instead...Thank you that I have...You state it as a fact and in the present that you already have it, and give thanks for it...

It's funny cause in metaphyicics it's called "The law of attraction"..You attract what you believe...If you believe you "don't have" then you'll attract the same...

So next time i ask for Halle Berry,i have to feel, taste, touch, hear, and smell her? Gotcha

😑 😂 ..........There's that free will thingie too, It kind of messes things up when you're working with individuals...unfortunately.

I stopped answering prayers long ago. 6 billion children can be very tiring!

You make a good point deb. We have to believe in the things we pray for and we have to be careful how we word our prayers. There is always an answer, but we may not be ready to recieve the answer when it is given. If you expect a certain outcome of a prayer you will likely be disappointed. Prayers are not always answered in our time and in our way.

I have a strong belief in the power of prayer. No, no one has ever lived miraculously because I got on my knees, but I have witnessed many things in life that are because of prayer.

My current situation is a testament to prayer. No, my life isn't perfect. I did not ask for a perfect life. To do so would be naive and foolish. I did ask that I would be given the strength and knowledge and courage to succeed in my life. I want to be an example to those that I come into contact with. I want to be a good mother to my children and to the child that sees me as a mother figure. I want to be happy in my life and I want to be proud of myself. I asked the Lord to give me the tools that I needed to accomplish these things.

After my prayer I realized that in order for me to accomplish the things I wanted to accomplish I had to sacrifice the things that were holding me back from them. So I did and my prayers are being answered. The process can only work as quickly as I do, but my life is changing, my perspective is changing, and I feel happier than I have been in my entire life. I finally see the possibilities of who I can become and what I am capable of accomplishing.

So had I not used the correct words and surrounded myself with the tools to recieve an answer, I would still be waiting. It would take longer for the answers to come.

So yes Deb...I agree with you on how we need to pray.

All prayers are answered. Its just that sometimes the answer isn't what you would like it to be.

This is true, but sometimes, aren't you grateful?

Also, as I posted before...you have to take the first steps and let the Lord guide you. Know how you want to approach a prayer before you do it. Know what you want from the prayer, but don't expect to get something for nothing.

If you want wealth, take the appropriate steps to earn yourself wealth. Buy lotto tickets if you want to play by chance for the rest of your life. Try for a really amazing job if you want it guaranteed that you will earn a fair income or have opportunity to stumble into success.

Asking God for material things tends not to work out.

Asking for someone to love you interferes with free will, but if you become a better person, someone understanding and selfless and loving...and you approach the woman or man with sincerity...chances are, you'll be someone that this person will find interest in. Also, be of equal ability as this person. If you are a bum that plays PS2 all day and night...don't expect a successful woman or man to fall for you. Just as if you are a successful man or woman you don't want someone who does nothing with theirs lives joining with yours.
That's called mooching.

And of course you can say that I am again not proving the existence of God because these are all things that you can do yourself. The point of being on Earth isn't to know, it's to believe. Even if you were face to face with Christ today...and you saw the prints in his hands and feet, would you believe that he really was Christ? Would you accept him or turn him away? It's all about faith and faith is believing in things unseen.
He is a flesh and bone man...and you would only see Him as such...so unless you had faith, you would still, faced with the truth...not believe.

Yes, if you desire things that seem too big...you don't pray for them. You pray for the ability to work to achieve them. You pray for the opportunities to grow and succeed. You pray for a change of heart and a chance to better yourself. You pray for opportunity, not for wealth or love.

When someone is dying, you don't pray for them to live, but for the Lord's will to be done and if it should be to take this person from the Earth that He will give you comfort and reassurance that all will be well.

I've had a lot of practice with prayer. I've done it for so long. I'm not saying that my prayers are perfect. I know some men and women with incredible prayers. I'm just saying, this is what I have witnessed for myself. And it works. Everytime.

And God listens to everyone. He does not see any difference between man or woman, white or black, rich or poor. We are all His children and he will listen to every one of us.

It seems to me that like attracts like....If you pray for something not out of love but self centerness, it usually doesn't quite work, but attracts the negative to you.

Actually I think wicca also feels that way...you are paid back like 3 fold for negative type minipulations.

I would have to agree with that. When you pray for good things, for honest things...you have a better chance of getting them.

If you pray for selfish and ignorant things you tend to end up with nothing...or things gradually get worse.

Prayers are answered, ALWAYS. But sometimes we don't get the answer we want, or hear the answer we recieve.

😮

Prayers aren't answered because there is no God and there is no point in making attempts to speak to a higher being because they are on a higher plane of existance if so much. Either that or there is a god and he doesn't give a rat's ass what you want because he's god and can do whatever the hell he wants. IMO, prayers were just sad little creations to make people with bad luck and shitty lives make themselves feel better or have hope to keep on living (who knows why).

Because the god of the Bible doesn't exist, but there is the creative source that does attract it's self to what you dwell on.

I'll buy that do you have change for a dollar 😉 Regardless of prayer or anything else for that matter what you focus on becomes reality for you and you become what you focus on as well!

Debbiejo has displayed Wisdom here that people in the GDF will never be able to appreciate 😄

Don't speak for me. 😛 😆

The reason why prayers dont APPEAR to be answered is because God answers them in different ways. For instance, if your grandmother is sick, and you pray for God to heal her, she might be healed spiritually and is prepared to pass on to the next life. God might not interfere with wars because they might prepare the people for what is to come. Everything is about perspective

Let me ask you a something: Have you ever felt extremely sad, and prayed to anyone out there for help? Have you had a bad day, and wished for the rest of your week to get better? Do you believe in Kharma? Why EXACTLY do you think you are here? Do you believe in the supernatural? Answer these questions please.
