IJUST GOT BACK FROM SEEING IT AND OMG 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 💃 💃 💃 💃
IT WAS THE BEST STAR WARS MOVIE EVER

No it isn't. ESB rules for ever!

I thought it was a pretty good movie, maybe tied with ROTJ, but the Ewoks drag it down just enough to make RoTS my third fave. Acting was typical Star Wars, I like all the little parallels (Yoda climbing on Chewies back like Luke, ObiWan getting into Tantive IV just like the Tantive IV on the destroyer in ANH, etc.). Especially like the Emporers little grin behind Vaders back after he gets the news about Padme (evil bastard that he is). Overall, it was a good way to spend the early hours of the day, but I'm gonna be tired tomorrow 🙁

oh they were almost as bad as Grievous, his voices sounded like that of the one who tells Obi Wan about the toxic dart in AOTC ooh and that Yoda was a friend of Chewie ❌ ❌ bad bad bad

Yup yup. They can cut the whole Kasyyk stuff, if you ask me. Nice to see but totally irrelevant.

BEST STAR WARS MOVIE EVER INCOMPARABLE SHOT BY SHOT JUST FINISHED WATCHING IT IN LAREDO, TEXAS. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GEORGE LUCAS YOU HAVE REDEEMED YOURSELF!!!!

First off, Grievous sounds NOTHING like Dex. Secondly, I loved the entire Clone Wars montage, including all parts related to Kashyyyk.

LOL, I definetly agree about the Neimoidian captain.

Did everyone see Lucas talking to his daughter as Anakin walks into the opera building? Good to see him in there, and his son Jett didn't do to bad defending Bail.

ok here goes my detailed review (or rant)

pre show hilarity: for about 90 minutes, we waited in a line outside the theater. it was sectioned off, but...metal poles (like the velvet rope ones), but its just ribbon instead of a rope & they clip into the sides of the poles. one guy tried to walk under & caught his cellphone on the ribbon. it snapped off, knocked over 2 poles and launched his cellphone across the hallway. it was hilarious and we burst out laughing and then did a terrible job of hiding it. then when he tried to fix it, he couldn't quite click in the ribbon and it snapped back & him, which made us laugh even more.

once in the theater, we had some funny guys beside us. they were joking about bootlegging the movie and had a whole ton of rude jokes to yell. the best part was when a girl came dressed as slave leia, but it was just a normal bikini top, with the gold painted on. and lets just say she was endowed. just about every guy was leering at her for 3 hours and the guys beside us screamed, HEY BABY, I GOT A LIGHTSABER FOR YA!

then the tv crews were there taping and they asked if anyone wanted to be interviewed & be on tv. me & my buddy went for it and they asked a buncha questions and we're gonna be on the news tomorrow.

now the movie: the first 5 minutes sucked hard, cuz the projectionist must have been drunk or something, cuz it was REALLY dark. like to the point where you could barely make anything out and everyone was screaming. they fixed it then.

the first battle & the ship stuff was excellent and very fun, though i thought dooku would have lasted a little longer. the following 25 min or so of talking was actually pretty well done, despite a few clunky scenes (i love you so much. no i love you so much more). the stuff with palps was great and really helped make anakins turn more believable, even though the dream stuff wasn't all that great.

grevious wasn't as annoying as i thought he would be, but his voice still bugs the hell outta me. the action scenes after were pretty awesome and the movie just got better. the scene that stuck out the most was anakin in the council room & padme in the apartment with the tense music and the following order 66 scene, which was extremely well done. there was also something really cool, when yoda throws his saber into a clone, jumps on him & pulls it out. plus anakin burning up was cool & pretty intense.

the bad: what the hell was happening with the emperor during the mace fight? his voice was changing all the time, its like he was going through puberty and some stuff he said i couldn't even understand. him begging for his life wasn't as good as it could have been and even got a few chuckles from the crowd with his whiny "oh please help me"

more on the emperor was his fight with yoda in the senate, when he goes insane and laughs like a maniac the entire time, even when he's hanging by one hand.

my complaints: the dagobah scene should REALLY have been left in, another 15-30 seconds would not have hurt the film and given yoda an offical goodbye.

as well, i was hoping that palps would actually confirm that darth plagueis was real. its implied enough, but it would have made anakins turn more concise, instead of speculation.

the qui-gon thing. it just kinda came outta left field and then as quickly as its mentioned, its over. it could have been done better i think.

and the big thing, padme dying of a broken heart. this was just really lame i think, it would have been better if she needed to give birth because of anakin choking her to save the kids & she died as a result. maybe this would have been going too far and would make anakin a wife killer, but i'd take that over dying from a broken heart.

overall: right now, i'd give it 4 stars for great action scenes, fairly decent dialogue, mostly good acting and great CG.

Alright my review, arent you thrilled? Hold the applause until I finish. 😛 (sorry but after the end of that movie I am trying to cheer myself up, which is a good thing)

I am not going to go through everypoint of the story because you can find it elsewhere. First point is Hayden, who I thought........dramatic pause........made this movie the masterpiece it was. I loved the banter between him and Ewan during the space fight, as it really showed how terrible his fall would be. Hayden was incredible playing off whoever he was talking to or screaming at.

Ewan played the funny young Kenobi quite well, and when things became tragic he really made you think that it was ripping him apart.

Ian had some good and bad, bad first. From the time his lightsaber shot out of his sleeve to the time he put up his hood, I thought he was terrible. The duel was the worst of the movie, they should have stuck with the wide shots and his cg double because close ups showed how ackward it must have been for him. After being deformed the mask or whatever it was looked terrible, and he spoke in a way neither Sidious or Palpatine had ever spoke. But once the hood went up and his face healed a little he was money. Though I found his performance more enjoyable before the Windu confrontation.

Jackson was passible, not bad but not shining so we move on.

Natalie Portman, this pains me, she was the only truly bad part of the movie. Those terrible scenes reviewers spoke of, while not as bad as we have been lead to believe, would have been so much worse if not for Hayden carrying them on his back. She wasnt unwatchable but when compared to anyone else she just didnt stack up. I did love her acting during the senate scene though, and enjoyed some of her confrantation with Ankin on Mustafar as well as before with Obi-Wan.

Yoda finally put to bed the cg vs puppet debate. You got as much emotion out of him as you did Anakin and Kenobi. The feelings he kept recieving on kashyyk looked real.

Now that the players are out of the way lets hit the rest of the stuff. The duels minus the Windu fight where spectacular, though only "THE DUEL" outranks "the duel of the fates" from E1. The Dooku fight was quite impressive though extremely short(as was Dooku's role 😂 ) I especially liked Anakin's little tie up move to win the fight.

The effects blended perfectly with the actors and where the best I have seen ever.

Space Battle ended up being shorter than I imagined, but still highly enjoyable. I loved how one ship blocked the scope of the battle as the Jedi entered, once they got around it you could see the incredible amount of fighting.

The General, as I and many expected, was a letdown. I dont really feel like detailing him so we continue.

Order 66 was tragicly(sp?) perfect, though Aayla could use some dying lessons.

To my favorite part, from the end of the duel to the end of the movie. No matter how spoiled I was the end of the duel was still gutwrenching. I doubled over as soon as I saw Obi jump to the sand bank, my stomach was churning. I couldnt believe how perfect and how terrible the burning came off as well as Obi-Wan's monologue.

The creation was handled nicely, and yes Vader looked ackward coming off the table, but remember he just got 2 new legs and put on about 80 pounds.

I really didnt think I would say this, but ROTS is the best of the saga in my eyes.

I got another hour in me tonight if anyone has questions, but then I must sleep as I plan to see it in the morning as well. But I will anser more tomorrow as well if need be.

Kashyyk made no sense at all.

Episode 3 did not disappoint me I loved Revenge Of The Sith It is now my favorite Star Wars movie ahead of The Empire Strikes Back by the smallest of margin's. I thought the editing was wonderful the entire movie seemed to fly so fast. Hayden's acting was much improved in ROTS. My favorite performance's from the cast however were from Ian Mcdiarmid, and Ewan Mcgregor both gave flawless performances. My only complaint is the dialogue and it was only in one scene that I was disappointed, an exchange between Anakin and Padme the your so beautiful it's only because I'm so in love. That was kind of lame but in all of the Star Wars films the dialogue isn't perfect. I think Revenge Of The Sith was a great way to finish The Star Wars saga.

My turn, and I know how eeeeeveryone's been waiting for this one! 😛

I took in "Star Wars: Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith" this evening. The overall experience was sheer fun. I strolled in at 8:00 PM, was ushered almost directly into the theatre where Alison and I got seats dead center, bullseye in the stadium seating. Best seats in the house, no doubt.

The opening crawl rolled up to thunderous applause, and from that point on, we all knew it was the beginning of the end. Episode 3's opening dogfight sequence was simply awesome. The CGI ships and atmosphere looked more polished than ever, provided a nice segway from the "Clone Wars" micro-series, with the easy going camaraderie between Anakin and Obi Wan ever present. A welcome change from the smug, wooden, emotional robot Hayden Christensen played in the previous installment. From that point on, I knew I was going to be pleasantly surprised with the film. He executed his heel turn to near perfection, save the trance-like dialogue between he and Palps in his office.

What Lucas achieved in the script of Episode 3 is exactly what the previous 2 episodes were missing, that being the casual nature of the dialogue. Too often we were subjected to regal, stale, monotone diatribes and corny, prim and proper sounding quips. This time around, the character interaction was more believable, less contrived and trivial, and you felt as if they actually known one another for quite some time. In addition, he maintained a great pace with the storyline. Never abandoning one segment for too long, it all pieced together quite nicely, all eventually focusing righ back onto Anakin, the beef of the film.

Ian McDiarmid headed up the overall acting revival that was so sorely missed over the past 6 years in the franchise. This was a personal film, one with actual relevance and meaning to Star Wars lore, not filler. McDiarmid actually taking his dialogue and running with it, showing Palpatine for what we all knew he was. IMO, it was Christensen story to mold, but McDiarmid's movie through and through. Hayden, dropping his prowess for playing an angry, angst ridden, wooden Anakin, in its place, a dark and brooding soon to be Vader..with true emotion! Honorable mention to the staples in Kenobi and Amidala, but absolutely no kudos to the one man who blew his once chance at redemption in Samuel L. Jackson. Even Jar Jar, who was on screen only twice, was more welcome than he.

That said, there were some instances that seemed a little less than inspired, and were more for the sake of fulfilling a bridging of the final episode and the Original Trilogy. Kashyyk was introduced, along with Chewbacca, neither of which really held no relevance. Very minimal nods to otherwise important characters such as Tarkin and Antilles were appreciated, but somewhat forgot when Padme's ultimate demise is described as merely "losing the will to live". The birth of Vader seemed extremely rushed, and tarnished the lore of how Vader came to be, having been condensed to a 15 second building scene, after which he's seen clumsly stumbling to his feet, followed by a cartoonish bellow, which made me just shake my head in disapproval.

While there were some missed opportunities, and some nonchalant tie-in's, which seemed obligatory at best, overall, it was a very entertaining movie, which finally improved on the mistakes of its predecessors. Lucas delivered a much more mature film, overall. It was witty as the original, scripted and delivered with ease, no contention, the action sequences were polished, and the battles were wholly engaging. It was promoted as dark and sinister, and that's what it was.

After 1 of 3 scheduled viewings, I'm giving ROTS a 7/10. Big ups for finally writing a flowing script, motivating the players, and remembering the true motivation for this new trilogy. Docking points for the gigantic, enormous, Mack truck sized plot hole in the fact that

Spoiler:
Anakin's turn to the dark side was to learn how to save Padme from dying, of which he never asked how, never trained to do so, never expressed interest in doing, and factually almost killed her himself. Anyone care to explain it to me?

ah, yes. Vader right after waking up:

Vader: hows Padme?
Sidious: oh, you killed her.
Vader: I remember she was alive!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I would have liked a bit more Vader in the suit actually.

some very in dept reviews there, good work and good read to Astrofan, HateWork, and Cinemaddiction

I would have liked a bit more Vader in the suit actually.
indeed

Spoiler:
My view on the subject is simply that between giving himself to Palpatine and her dying there where only a few hours. And by the looks of her belly she was not due for a while. At the time he choked her I was almost not himself, he was literally a product of his own rage, Darth Vader.

This is my review and Im not going back through it to put in spoiler tags, if you are in this thread you should EXPECT to get spoiled damnit. 😛
That being said, Im just gonna leave a big space, if you dont want to be spoiled because you havent seen it skip my post.

Opening night review.
Rating 7.5-8 out of a possible 10

First of all let me start off by saying I was spoiled by everything but the script. Thay being said, the only thing that hampered my viewing of ROTS was the book. The book scores a 15 on my scale, simply because after reading the book, I was left feeling like Lucas butchered the film.

Ok now on to the review.
The opening battle was so well done. From all the pictures I had seen, I was kind of ho-huming thinking about it., but once I saw it on screen, it was amazing. The scenes on the Invisible Hand were very good. I loved the interaction between Anakin and Obi-Wan. Was not impressed with all the faces Palpatine made. I was like errrr? The Dooku duel was cool, but a tad short. Rest of the stuff up to and including the landing was awesome.

Onto Coruscant, I actually liked the first scene between Anakin and Padme very much. Nicely done. Everything else on Coruscant with the exception of Anakin saying good bye to Obi-Wan and Palpatines seduction of Anakin UP TO when Mace arrives to arrest Palpatine.........eh not so good IMHO. The dialog between Padme and Anakin was horrendous I thought. Mace........wtf? He got was was coming to him. Could he have BEEN anymore arrogant? I think had the JC cut Anakin some slack and made him a master, they have survived. The scene where Anakin actually makes his choice was done very well in my opinion.

The ENTIRE wookie parts could have been totally left out. Not necessary and pointless.

Grevious vs Obi-Wan......killer cool as far as Im concerned.

The Jedi purge, this is where the movie took a major turn back to awesome for me, altho I would have liked to see Anakin advance on the Padawans after igniting his saber before they cut the scene. Anakin telling Padme that he was going to Mustafar scene, this one I liked.

Obi-Wan and Yoda seeing the security tapes, very good altho here again the book dealt with Obi-Wans reaction way better and I wish they had showed that in the movie.

Mustafar, Anakin vs the separists......awesome.
Anakin, Padme and Obi-Wan on Mustafar scene excellent. Loved Haydens force choke, Nat prolly could have done alot better acting like she was being choked.

Sidious vs Yoda, very good. Loved them tossing the pods around.

THE DUEL.....AMAZING, and DAMN it was FAST as in speed of saber work. Applause to Haydne and Ewan for pulling that off and to Nick for some killer choreography. This part of the movie gets a 15 from me. The scene on the lava bank was a killer, so emotional for Obi-Wan as he sees what become of his friend. I have only one complaint and that is that I wish GL had left in the line right after Anakin falls and he looks at Obi-Wan and says "Master?"

End of the movie, loved every single scene. EVERY ONE OF THEM. And I thought every lines uttered by the suited Vader was perfectly spoken and acted. I thought I would cry a river at this movie, but the place I finally teared up was when Leia and Luke's theme music was played as they were handed to their new parents and the movie wrapped up.

As far as acting, Hayden was excellent as was Ewan and Ian. Nat and Jimmy S was good, SLJ, I was less than impressed with until the final moments of his duel with Palpatine.

The special effects were stunning, the movie was visually stunning. The music was moving altho like Yerssie, I would have preferred to hear more DOTF.

Did anyone else notice during the opening space battle that when Anakin kicked his ship in gear it was the same sound effect from him kicking his pod racer in gear? Shades of de-ja-vue for me.

I am seeing this again on Friday night and Saturday for sure. I may change my mind, time will tell.
