In terms of blu ray player, exclusives, capabilities, etc. It's also funny how they are getting mass effect 2 nowadays. Xbox isn't bad but it's no ps3.

It being a bluray player is a moot point and has been for two years now. You can buy stand-alone bluray players for far cheaper.

Capabilities are irrelevant if they're not being used. Which, well, they aren't.

Blu Ray, Blu Ray... oh right, that's that unnecessary and overly-expensive format that's never actually been utilized to its advertised potential, right? Right?

And capabilities... that so far appear to be mythical. We just had the "potential isn't worth shit" argument a few pages back, quan.

You can buy them for far cheaper but getting one at a competitive price along with a great console is killing two birds with one stone which is my entire point.

Mythical yeah right......

Get back to me when an xbox's games graphics come close to this or god of war 3.

I mistakenly argued against the ps3 right before I got my xbox but the proof is in the pudding. Ports will always be fairly close but exclusives should always been capable of so much more on the ps3 than the xbox.
Castlevania also is 2 discs on the xbox whereas just one for the ps3. Oooops. Looks like ps3 is more powerful which is obvious and has been obvious.

Exclusives. Looks they favor the ps3 and xbox just lost mass effect 2 which is huge as an exclusive. Yeah ps3 hands down like I said.

The PS3 is clearly the more powerful.

The 360 has been able to work around its limitations by the virtue of its demographics preferring shooters. Which don't need big scale, a lot of enemies on screen, or subsequently too many effects happening at once.

God of War 3 cannot be done on the 360. That much is clear. Nothing comes close to what it does. Uncharted 2 can't be done either.

You can argue graphics fidelity all you want, there isn't a big difference in that regard (although GoW3 is still tops by a big margin). But the PS3 clearly is able to do a lot more with its games than the 360 can computation wise.

I agree with Quanchi for once.

PS3 hands down has more exclusives as well and has been catching up world wide in sales the whole time. The gap is around the 3 million mark now and the only place the 360 consistently sells more is in the US.

PS3 will be in second place before the generation is over, but for me its clearly number one as a games console anyway.

360 is too shooter oriented as is the North American way. Too much of a meathead audience for me, not enough artistic games or action adventure. Everything is either Halo or Call of Duty over there.

I enjoy my PS3, I dont play Xbox so I cannot say which is better from first hand experiance. I would assume the best one is more a personal choice, because it depends on which one has the games you like. I enjoy God of war 3 and Heavy rain which iirc are exclusives to PS3 so its good enough for me.

Interesting too as this guy also agrees ps3 is far more powerful than the xbox 360.

Oooooooh. That explains the spammer on the Sucker Punch forums the other day. He kept flaming and threatening Darren Bridges. I thought it was hilarious.

People do get a little ridiculous. Last system I liked the xbox better because it was more powerful but this time around the ps3 has the horsepower and to me they have far better exclusives but that just boils down to personal preference as I dislike shooters for the most part.

I pretty much can't stand shooters. It takes a lot for me to be able to enjoy them well enough. Usually this involves friends on Multiplayer.

Horsepower means nothing to me, though. I like what I like.

Whenever I look at sales charts, 360 is almost always ahead of the PS3 so I'm not sure where the whole "closing the gap" is coming from. From what I can see, the gap is actually widening.

Then again, I don't believe there is a single game on the 360 I would be interested in. Fable perhaps, but Fable 3 is coming to PC so whatever.

However, as I've said a great many times, sheer power is not at all important in terms of which console is performing better. If you have a Bugatti Veyron with 987 horsepower and a top speed around 250 mph, that's great, but in practical terms you're still driving right around the speed limit most days. The extra power's a great spec, but almost no one's using it. It's the same with developers and the PS3. Sony's in-house developers are the only ones actually working to use the hardware to a higher point than before, and they simply aren't producing enough quality, fun games to justify it yet.

Meanwhile, last week's sales charts show the DS unsurprisingly in first place, with 331,775 units sold, 360 next with 197,058 units, then PS3 with 160,994 units.

In software, Pokemon Black/White won out with 829,270 units in its second week, with Halo: Reach right behind it at 817,905. F1 2010 launched on PS3 with only 266,337.

The only other top 10 sales for the PS3 that week was Sports Champions, a Move launch title that is a thinly-veiled copy of Wii Sports, with a mere 120,783 units sold.

Not a great week for PS3.

Ahaha, Pokemon beat out a Halo game. Suck it, Halo fans.

Gay, overrated shooter > your favorite game? mmm

I disagree. It's a bit easier to sell more copies when Black and White are as of now only released in Japan. But they did sell 2.63 million copies in their first two days there.

It's also a bit easier to make more money when one game costs about twenty five dollars more than the other.

Plus, GK mentioned only that they sold more copies recently. I'll take what small victories I can.

Well as long we're on the same page. 😂

Of course, we're never on the same page. I hate you.

I find that very comforting to know. Thank you for telling me that.

Serious post is serious.

Hiss!

Alright, break it up, break it up. Stay on topic, guys.
