"Ronaldo will dominate the headlines.". Why? Very good goal, then silent for the rest of the game. Kept trying stepovers, kept getting mugged.

That's exactly my problem with C.Ron, in quite a few games he's been relatively anonymous but come up with a goal, or one bit of magic... and still the media lauds him.
As I said before, I had to stop watching the Man U Villa game after his backheel goal, I just couldn't stand the incessant fellating from the commentators after what was, in effect, a cheeky but unspectacular goal... it rolled down his body got caught under his feet so he flicked his heel at it, AMAZING.
Honestly? He's gonna live off this forever now.
It's Gerrard, Beckham and Owen all again. Except Ronaldo is better than those and foreign. The worst part is, everyone EXCEPT Rooney, Fergie and non-retards wanted the man dead after the Portugal/England game.
It's a shame really, because his acclaim is already causing him to focus on notoriety rather than making it through his own means.

WHO is saying it didn't do the job?
If a man paints a really nice mural on your ceiling, you don't give him credit for the Sistine Chapel. You say "You did a bloody good job with that ceiling...John.".

They did. Their defense went to utter pieces, and it's stupid to deny otherwise. They f*cked up the clearance and somehow allowed Ronaldo to score a backheel from the penalty spot. It wasn't a rocket, it was a backheel. The very fact that he scored that proves how shambolic Villa's defense was. It wasn't like it was an unexpected shot at a weird angle.Well, if you want to get into details, and make my point more valid; it was when Sam Allardyce was in charge. Sam is a huge fan/friend of Fergie, to the point that he barely says a word against him, and even as a manager of Bolton, Man Utd had more success against them than any other team.
My point is, Man Utd have a vast media-hyped reputation, Ronaldo especially. The record they now hold does not reflect the kind of football they have played. The very fact that when teams do basic, cohesive defending, Man Utd have trouble, is proof. I've listed all the teams that kept their nerve and didn't go to pieces, and what happened there. It's not all coincidence.
Gareth Southgate summed it up when he spoke of Chelsea: "We only really turned up to admire then and then swap shirts.".
WELL stressed. Like, pop-a-vein stressed. Bordering see-a-therapist stressed.
Either way, if you watched the Premier League you'd not be sucking Ronaldo's dick, because you'd realise that he's had a prolific season, he's not played especially well. People have just played shit against him.

yeah, that completely validated your point. you have now convinced me of something ive been agreeing with the entire time. you ****ing retard.
do i really come off that upset? WELL stressed? bordering see-a-therapist stressed? well, i guess its true then. you put a swear in a sentence on the internet, you must be pissed.
go ahead man, dont give him any credit. doesnt make a difference to me. i watched him score every one of those goals and he took them all. at that level, they dony give 36 to you, you take them. they've even taken away half his game from him, and hes scores better goals and more consistently than he did last season.
did you even watch the game today? he had twice as much of the ball and did more with it after he scored than before the goal. that proves it right there man, to me at least. im not saying hes the greatest player, but you're selling him pretty short.

Nope, I just happen to know what I saw, and know more about football than you. That's what it is. You watch the games, you don't WATCH the games. You watch the games, you just don't see what's going on.

Jesus on Earth, look at the sheer utter stress of you. You're about to pop a vein, son. Relax, for crying out loud. Snapping and calling me this, calling me that, "f*cking retard". So insecure in your own lack of knowledge it see.
Just...chill. Can ya do that, champ? Can ya?

Yeah, it must be nice inside Ronaldo's ass, but here, in real-land, you don't get 36 goals a season by sheer brilliance when you are not a player of absolute brilliance. As Ronaldo is not, he is just a good goalscorer, like Villa. He saw a chance and took it, because Villa were in pieces because they psyched themselves out.

He got barged off every run he tried to make, then moaned about it. The slightest touch, he goes over. The one free kick he had, he pelted wide. His only moment was a run that went pathetically unmarked and he scored a great header. The second goal game from goal keeping error and right place/right time. Man Utd did deserve the win, Roma played shit, Man Utd played better. Ronaldo was anonymous besides the one moment.

It's just current bandwagon bullshit. There's a difference between form and being 'the best'. On form he is probably the best in the world, in terms of attacking play. Why can only attacking players be the best player in the world? Stupid media hype. I remember the Bolton game, when he scored his second. The commentator said 'surely now no-one can argue he is not the world's best', like 2 goals against Bolton was the deciding factor in that.

Quite funny.

I ****ing take my previous comment back now. That is possibly, no, definitely, THEE, gayest comment, sound or video on the whole internet.
Do we all accept that if you score more goals than the other team, then you generally win the game? Do we all accept that Ronaldo has done more of this 'goal' 'scoring' than any other player in any of the 'top' leagues? If we answer "yes" to these questions, then we should accept that that feat alone makes Ronaldo a pretty special player.
However, from a personal point of view, I prefer to watch Berbatov (when he decides to clock-in for the day), Ronaldinho (when he isn't fat and lazy), or Robinho and Messi (when they play). I think Ronaldo is a great player, but I think those other dudes have more of that elusive 'style' factor. Dunno why, can't explain it. Zidane had it more than most, anyway...
he's an opportunist...if he's the best in the world at anything it would be reacting to goal scoring opportunities
if he had more physical presence and didn't blow over in a light breeze then he might be up there with the best but when defenders get the mark of him, he cant change his style to adapt.
saying that...even when defenders are doing a great job of shutting him out of the game he can still pop up from nowhere and score...hence the opportunist aspect of his game
good player...i can see why he'd be exciting to watch if you'd only saw him a couple of times but you soon see he has limited bag of tricks
same with Kerlon...look him up if you dont know him

and thats what makes players the best in the world. when everyone focuses attention on you and trys to shut you out, it may work for a while, but the great players always find a way through.just look at kaka, he can be quiet for 60-70 minutes and then you find yourself staring in awe at a piece of magic he just conjured up.

he has limited tricks but he doesnt really need them. they are there for entertainment factor. kaka doesnt need tricks either.

Ronaldo doesn't conjure the magic, though. He just takes a chance. Brazil were under Croatia's thumb and Kaka' beat/held off about three men and scored from outside of the box. Ronaldo couldn't do that. He can barely beat one determined defender when he's being marked, as evidenced last night.

Stepovers are entertainment since when? It's not like Ronaldinho doing a no-look pass or a dead ball pass with all the precision of Bullseye. It's him doing lots of stepovers.
He's fast. When he loses pace he'll be nothing, like Owen.

a great player contributes to the team regardless of results...they play out their skin from the 1st minute to the last
regardless...i'm not refering to huge amounts of effort in order to shut him down...just a single defender who has his mark...that's all it takes
great attackers of the past sailed through entire defences...brushed off harsh challenges and put the ball in the back of the net...far more often than not Ronaldo comes up against a defender and falls over when he so much as senses a fart coming on
