What are the Gunner's chances of winning the Premiership with the upcoming fixtures, AC? I am just curious.

I just read Totti is out for the 2nd leg. Any thoughts on how significant this might be come Wednesday?

Roma are out either way.

For Arsenal to win the league, they'd need to beat Man U, then have Man U drop 4 other points. If three of those were to Chelsea, though, then Chelsea would be above Man Utd anyway. Man Utd aren't as comfortable as the media want you (and desperately themselves) to believe.

Pro with Man Utd: I play their default formation, default defence, Evra left wing (as he is by default). Then I play Cron right, Tevez (does work) in the centre with Scholes or Hargreaves, and up front Rooney deeper, Saha as the main striker.

Works really well.

As much as I want United (naturally!) to win, I hope there's not a repeat of last year's ownage. Totti or no Totti.

Yeah, I mean I used to use the default (4-4-2) on PSP and that worked wonders. One year later, I am playing the modified Man U 4-4-2 and I like it. I've never actually used Tevez in the centre. Might try it in 5 minutes. I usually end up subbing with either Nani or Anderson in midfield as soon as Giggs gets fatigued. Saha is a whole different story. He is one of the most consistent (at least in FIFA07) for me. When 08 came, he was no where to be found. I usually just have Tevez and Rooney at the front. I never like putting Ronaldo there. Even if his stats indicate 90+. He can have the free kicks and penalties. No need to take all goals.

Man, were United lucky this afternoon. Awesome game, Middlesbrough should have had them though. Apparently that Alves guy has played 8 games for them (Boro) before today without scoring, none of which I've seen, but judging by his performance against United he's a serious talent.

I still hope they (United) win the league, if only to deny Chelsea, but for the first time this season I'm thinking it's definitely all over for Arsenal. Which is disappointing because they really are a gorgeous football team, even when they're exhausted they play slick, interesting football without relying on experience and attrition like Chelsea, or purely individual brilliance like United. Oh well. Proof I'm not a real Spurs fan I guess (along with the foreign and living in south London thing...), that I've been backing Arsenal.

Barnsley for the cup!!

So how many people here play Pro Evo on Xbox 360?

We should have a tournament or something.

League wouldn't work cos there's only a limited, realistic amount of teams to be.

F*cking Cardiff. I despise them for purely personal reasons (I know quite a few Cardiff fans, and they are all ignorant, racist prick hooligans). But all the same. F*cking Cardiff.

i play pro evo 2008 on live occasionally so count me in...my gamertag is jee101

I am a Fifa series player unfortunately.

Can anyone give me a little rundown on how the Pro Evo series plays opposed to FIFA. Everyone I ask usually tells me to play the game myself and I'll notice the difference. From what I read, FIFA has been copying a lot from the Pro Evo series lately. Maybe soon you PES players will consider me equal.

fifa has traditionally been the graphically better but more arcade style of play...where as pro evo has been graphically poorer and with less official licenses for leagues and player names but it's game play has been far superior in terms of tactics and build up play

i personally dont know if this is still the case because i haven't played a fifa for about 4 or 5 installments

In Pro Evo 2008, everything seems mostly licences except SOME countries and the Premier League kits; except Spurs and Newcastle.

It shouldn't, but it does cheapen proceedings. I'm less inclined to be Arsenal or anyone that isn't official.

Also, Pro has traditionally always been behind on player attributes. Fabregas, Pato, many players are nowhere near as good, stat-wise, as they should be. Where as players like Darren Bent have 99 speed. Clichy has 95 or something.

Overall, Pro is the better game though.

The problem with games online is that it glitches HORRIFICALLY. It can cost games, sadly.

+1

I've heard similar arguments from fellow FIFA enthusiasts.

Thanks for the run-down, guys.

What's your gamertag, Deano?

I fancy racking up some Pro Evo wins.

i only play the japanese version of pro evo(winning eleven 10) on the playstation 2. its miles ahead of the european release, better shooting, more realistic movements and game speed. i think pro evo on the ps3 is shit.

i might get the game for the 360 again so i can whip you online 😎 i remember the game lagging alot online which peed me off. the game really is awful compared to the jap version on the ps2 though. you should check it out.

Hey Dean, how are the licenses in the Japanese version?

Still MAN RED? 😛

you need a patched option file downloaded off the net if you want everything up to date. its easy to get.

all the names, strips and transfers are spot on. i regulary update the new stuff on edit mode anyway. so basically its pretty much perfect.

you've just described about 30% of all football fans there. every team has racist supporters even if there are black players on they're team. makes no sense and is idiocy.

glad to see cardiff through though, its not very often a welsh team makes any kind of mark.

oh and i play pro evo 6, havent had any lag unless its another players connection playing up on there. 2008 is good, and lag was small when seen in my friends copy.

arsenal to win 2-1 tonight

Who else is genuinely hoping for a Fenerbahce win?

-AC

Count me in.

I predict another 2-1 victory. And I base this on absolutely nothing.

Obviously, I want Arsenal to win. Arsenal are more than capable of winning at Anfield.

As long as they don't lose, and make sure it's not a scoreless draw, can at least take it to pens if they don't win.

I dunno, though. Can sense Liverpool jiffing the win. They do seem to have C.L. luck, as proven last game.

-AC

First leg wasn't anything to write home about.

The Gunners better up the ante this time around. And better calls by the refs. Yeesh!

1-0 diaby... good match so far...
