So that IS your goal then?Congrats, though. You won a meaningless cup that gets you into a tourney that you won't win.
This old horse again? Don't you remember seeing Whinger try to throw all his aces down to get them back in the game? Everyone else does...
If you've forgotten that, you may have forgotten the final score: 5-1 to Spurs.
Don't worry though, I'm sure you'll win something again...someday. Obviously not this season though. Your boys completely choked when it counted the most, didn't they? Shame...
Finishing in the top four, consistently, all the time, playing arguably the best football. This all says a lot more than Spurs winning the Carling Cup. Cups are more open than leagues, leagues require consistent quality, something Spurs haven't really ever had. The season they finished 5th was close, and even then Arsenal took it from them.
I'm not using these things as examples of why Arsenal can win cups, cos they're not at the moment, but it's just endlessly funny that Spurs fans feel they are in a place to criticise the top four because they won a cup that qualifies you for the Costcutter of cups.

Eh, we finish 5th in the last two seasons. One of those finishes would have been a 4th place if it wasn't for a ridiculous case of food poisoning.
Arsenal haven't consistently played the best football this season, Man Utd have. Plus Man Utd didn't choke and b*tch and moan and cry like Arsenal. In fact, no other team has whinged like Arsenal in the WHOLE league! They're the biggest bunch of bad LOSERS the Premier League has ever seen.
Plus, we smashed you 5-1 on the way to that cup, so it makes it all the sweeter.

Do you not see the comedy that Spurs' success in the eyes of many a Spurs fan depends on Arsenal?
All you ever talk about is Arsenal, I can't remember the last time you spoke about Spurs.

surely the best football is being played by whoever is winning? or do you mean style of football? when i watch football i'm not too bothered about the flashyness of it, what i want to see is the pure heart that goes into it. its all good being flamboyant and passing nice... if the results dont come something needs to change.
gallas as captain for a start.

Wait...you don't want to see fancy, beautiful football, simply because without results it means nothing. Yet, you watch football for pure heart?
Chelsea have had a more "successful" season than Arsenal. You prefer watching them grind out results in matches like their now legendary game against Liverpool?
That's precisely why the lack of silverware isn't a gigantic issue for me. It's starting to get silly that people are acting like Arsenal will never win a thing again, yet Liverpool are, without fail, "challengers" for the league every year. I know that Arsenal will just keep getting better in time, I'm already excited for next season. This season in itself was an accomplishment.
The good thing is, the issues we have are clear and easily addressed. Players needed, that's it. Gotta be more clinical. Learn from the mistakes and move on. One thing that is guaranteed is that Arsenal will always put heart into it, and always play football that even the most hardened Arsenal hater can enjoy (Except Krunk'd), unlike Liverpool and Chelsea it seems.
