not really, he had the chances. i remember the keeper or the post denied him one at the end of the game. anyways, not the point. we just need someone to play the position. i dont care who it is really, if either tevez or rooney go down then we're really screwed. gimme huntelaar, anybody.
Yes, and he didn't score them. He's not a proper striker, he's a link man who also scores. With Huntelaar Man Utd would be dangerous.

I was a bit disappointed with Modric - he ran around like a piece of corn in a hot frying pan, but he never popped. Hopped he gets better...
He looks seriously lightweight. May grow into it though.
Bentley was a waste of money.
Gutierrez is ****ing excellent, and only cost £6 million.

im still not convinced by huntelaar but id be happy if we took the gamble on him.

Are you talking about Berbatov? If you are, then I disagree. I don't see him as a link man, although he can link play. He's more of a classic No. 9. If you're not talking about Berbatov, then look over there...I thought I saw something...

Yeah, as I was watching the game it felt like he was scared of the Chelsea players. He didn't really put his foot in, and he lost every 50/50 ball. He's got skills, but I think it may take a while for him to become dominant.
Bentley looks like a **** with that hair-do. He's a good crosser though, so immediately he's an improvement on Lennon. As for Spiderman, he looks really good. As soon as he gets the ball he dribbles with it very directly and he's got the strength to go past the other players.
What about that Amr Zaki? He looks excellent - strong, fast, eye-for-goal, etc. How come he ended up at Wigan? The same goes for Palacios - he's exactly the kind of skillful, robust midfielder that Arsenal need, so why did The Whinge recommend him to another team? Too old for ol' sticky beak?

To me a classic number 9 is Shearer. He's more like a number 10. Or a 9 and a half, as (I think) Platini called Baggio.
That's what I mean by link man, a Bergkamp type. One to be playing behind the proper striker.

Yeah, Zaki looks good.
I dunno why Wenger didn't keep Palacios. I suppose he didn't want another squad player. He's not the greatest technically, as well.

Platini is an idiot! Baggio was the archetypal number 10! I'd say Berbatov would be the more advanced striker in any partenership he would play in. He's not a Bergkamp type player, that was Robbie Keane's role.
Woo. LFC finally have Riera and 2 more "promising" kids to provide more "options" and "possibilities". Oh, yippee.
And for the record: BBC Sport confirmed that Real Madrid have bid for Berbatov and rumour has it that Robinho's going to Chelsea in a straight swap for Didier Drogba. Crazy world, but as long as we can get rid of Pennant to Stoke now that Voronin's gone, I'll be happy...

Riera is just another shit squad player for Rafa to fiddle around with. Why does he love signing these mediocre players? Especially when he's got a player like Ryan Babel, who has genuine ability, but he rarely plays him? Weirdo!
I haven't seen much of Riera since his (disappointing) spell at Man City. Supposedly he's improved a great deal. Guilleme Balague (or however you spell it) seems to think he's decent, and that's good enough for me.
I'm hoping Rafa's got something up his sleeve still. Lots of rumours about Joaquin and Owen have been around today, but I can't see us getting both. Not sure about either, but I'd be pretty pleased to get one or both anyway, considering we need more options up front and out wide. Anyway, with Pennant and Voronin going, surely we need replacements. I live in vain hope...

Baggio agreed. Is he an idiot? Is he?
An idiot?
Berbatov is all about assists and flicks, how can he be the most advanced striker? Although admittedly yesterday Keane was playing virtually in defence. That's just Benitez, though.

Man's shit. Seriously.

Nah, Berbatov's at Carrington, having a medical, but I'm fairly sure Spurs have yet to agree a few with the Manc bastards. I hope they say no to United, sell him to City or Real and then let the FA, UEFA or whoever to rip United apart.
I'm praying for a points deduction, myself. They certainly deserve it. Ferguson's the worst hypocrite since... erm... sliced bread...
Whatever I said before about Berbatov, I'd like to take it all back now and say that he's shit, over-rated, lazy, moody, and an idiot just like Platini. I never liked Berbatov, and I always knew he was shit.
Also, Man City are a funny ol' club, aren't they? That'd be really funny if they signed Robinho, Villa, Ronaldo and Mario Gomes.

Quite right too.

They had to settle for just Robinho, I'm afraid. I do wonder what Mark Hughes thinks, considering he was off playing golf, while the owners chased every big name forward in Europe. I get the feeling he's suddenly under a lot of pressure.
I just hope LFC can get DIC now. Apparently the City guys were really smug they beat DIC to getting a club (because they represent different royal families from the UAE). I'm praying that DIC get competitive...
