If there is one thing that the movies have made perfectly clear to me, is that Yoda is the greatest lightsaber dueler ever. He may have an equal in the use of the force (palps) but in saber combat, he IS the man. Nobody can touch his speed and control of the force. Palps kept up for a few seconds, and so did Dooku, but both of them realized they were totally out matched in saber combat, so they both took the fight to a different level. Dooku used Obi and Anakin to run like a little *****, cause he would have been slayed quick had the fight gone on. And Sids took it into the senate room to start chucking senate pods because he also knew he was clearly out matched with lightsabers.
I don't know what movies everyone else was watching, but nobody is Yoda's equal in saber combat. I thought it was fairly obvious. Apparently not...
The way I see it...Sidious tried to leave at the opening of the duel because he wasn't absolutely sure that he could defeat Yoda and had too much at stake to try...likewise, Yoda escaped the Senate building at the end of the duel for the same reasons. He -might- have been able to defeat Sidious but if he failed the Jedi would have no hope..so it's a draw.
As far as who is stronger and what not...the best of the best can have off days..and those saying Palps cheated by throwing senate pods..please..if you and I are fighting to the death with knives and I have the opportunity to run your ass down with my pickup then that's what I'd do. You can call me a cheater all you want when I see you in hell. 😮💨

Yoda has hard difficulties to resist Sidious lightning at first then Yoda manage to hold up until when Sidious make a weird face because the build up of energy lightning was about to be release. Not so by Yoda but i suspect it was too much energy concentrated at the same time to contain; Sid knew imo.

😆 It's a thought. I see for myself very different things.
Sid clearly overpowered Yoda in the Force. Has for Saber skill you must not be looking right cause never Yoda skill was superior to Sidious.
How did Sidious overpower Yoda with the force? Sidious threw pods at Yoda, Yoda could throw them back. Sidious could use force lightning, Yoda could catch it with his bare hands. Sidious zapped Yoda with his force lightning, Yoda stood up and force pushed him over the table. I didn't see in any way how Sidious proved himself superior to Yoda force powerwise. As for Sidious being better than Yoda lightsaber skill wise. Bull crap. If Sidious was so much better with a lightsaber, why did he have to keep some distance away from Yoda and use force powers? I'm sure he was very eager to have Yoda dead. Why not just slice and dice him in five seconds?
On the Mace subject I think they were equals in saber skills. Maybe Palps just got the bad end in the lightsaber dual, but he still could have blasted him with force lighting. So I think he is more powerful than Mace. He just used Ani to get it done better. Think about it theres only so much force you can use. Had the battle gone on longer Palps might of over poweres Mace w/ force powers, but mace still had his lightsaber so that could have given him an advantange. Mace slightly less powerful than Palps. but it is debatable.
Now for Yoda I think Yoda clearly was better. You saw it through out the fight. In the lightsaber fight yoda is clearly the aggressor while Palps is simply to trying to stay alive. So then Palps moves the fight to long range where he thinks he has a possible advantage. Now yoda catches a pod thrown by Palps then throws it back at him. Instead of Palps catching it he has to move making me think he thought he couldn't stop it. Next Yoda tries to get close to him again then Palps hits him with all the force lighting that he gots, but yoda throws it back at him but yoda looses his balance and takes the worst fall of the two. Now Yoda's lightsaber is broken and he hears troops coming. Infact palp's sends other people to go find him not himself. What I think happened was Yoda knew he was stronger and went to fight Palps and gain a quick kill.
This is obviously when Palps would be at his least guarded, but Plaps did just enough to stay off Yoda till reinforcements arrived. Yoda his lightsaber was destroyed and that even though he would probaly win a solo fight eventually his window of oppurtunity had closed. Now he would have to fight Palps+an army w/o a lightsaber so he had to flee realizing he couldn't fulfill his mission. No doubt Yoda>Palps

At the very end of the fight, Sidious and Yoda stand there, each obviously giving every last bit of effort and power they can into the force, and Yoda throws all of Sidious' very best power right back at him and knocks him for a loop. If he didn't fall down it would've been all over for Sidious.
Yeah the entire fight, especially the end is a draw. During the lightning Palp starts with the advantage then you get the close up of a determined Yoda then a shot of a suprised Palp.
