I would give upper body strength to Lee in this . I did a attribute by attribute analysis of Lee vs. Ali many pages back and it came into favor of Lee by a comfortable margin.

Street fighting experience: Lee

Strength: Lee (because Ali will not be using his lower body strength)

Speed: Lee by leaps and bounds.

Endurance: Lee

Heart: Ali by leaps and bounds.

Experience against high caliber fighters: Ali

Diversity in Skills: Lee by leaps and bounds

Reach: I would be Lee's kicks on par with the speed of Ali's punches so I will give this to Lee but only be a small margin.

Size: Ali

Durability: Ali by leaps and bounds.

Overall, it favors Lee. If Lee was very weak but still had his speed, I would give it to Ali. But Lee has strength behind his stupid fast speed. Lee also has many other things going for him that make an street fight or an MMA fight in Lee's favor.

These are all things I covered already.

Bruce used to use a 50 pound weight built on a crude invention of his to practice his inch punch, and do this for very long periods of time. I'm not sure that I would give Ali the durability over Lee to be honest. Lee, used to do so many push ups that he had to figure out a way to save time while doing other activities, so he strapped on electric pads to stimulate his pectoral muscles. Lee's endurance was absolutely incredible for a human being. People forget how hard it is to maintain a horse stance, if they even know what one is. I challenge anyone to go into a horse stance, and maintain it for 10 minutes. Lee could remain in this stance for over an hour at a time, and still throw punches.

Compared to Lee's level of athleticism, Ali was an out of shape old man. Your post was dead on the money.

Wing Chun, such a silly martial art. Pretty much none of it works on real opponents, it's fantasy bullshit.

Don't think they have black belts in Wing Chun. They get Black Eyes from toddlers though.

I'm guessing IWKA stands for something with KArate Association in it. McDojo as another poster stated, Wing Chun traditional grades are numbered. These belts are something added by the McDojo Mclicensing body.

A few hooks to the body would crumple those fruits. Standing on one leg really isn't going to stop a right cross of doom!

Well, SirWS, I just showed you that Wing Chun, no matter the form, does have belted forms. It was the first link in a google search. We Americans like to...get this...Americanize lots of shit. We are fat and boss like that. 😄

Traditionally and in many schools you are correct, but there are schools out there that do award belts.

When you show me a traditional Chinese martial artist doing anything but losing in any kind of recorded competition. I'll believe you. I know not of whom this SirWS is I am Lee, Anal Lee.

Don't be silly, only a dunce like you would choose to use forms in a real fight. People use that form for balance and strength. Also only a child would attempt to get under a grown mans skin like you are attempting to do to me. It's obvious that you're bored. I leave that shit to fantasy martial artists like Lee and their made up Kung Fu Dojo Wars etc. I've no desire to beat up some tiny oriental making monkey noises, who has never done any full contact sparring and just theoretically believe in his techniques. Which frankly are hopeless.

We leave the challenging to the fantasy Martial artists, I'd far rather see Wing Chunners bring there legal arm breaking blocks to Boxing and Muay Thai competitions as it would change the way we see combat, but of course it wouldn't because it's all theoretical fantasy Martial Arts. Lee is unproven, speculative and whilst fit could have a glass jaw for all we know and will not be able to cope with a mobile Ali throwing fast combos. Even stick and move might mess him up..

And given how easily he died, it may be that his brain would not be able to cope with the repeated, rapid, jarring of his head that would be unavoidable when ever Ali is within range...and all knowledge of forms means shot when you cant think cause youre violently shocked/concussed.

Ali is vastly proven, documented and has all the tools to wreak destruction on Lee with relative impunity.

No way can Lee dominate (Or likely get near) the Ali who was as unfindable and near superhumanly elusive as he was against Liston (Yes, the time he fought him for a round or so blind!!!!) and Big Cat Williams, as Durable as he was against Ernie Shavers, George Foreman or as Stamina for throwing shots at speed.

Lee has a verified win by submission hold against another Chinese dojo master so we know Lee would and could use a ground game.

Ali would seem to be quite out of his element against mixed martial arts especially if you consider that Inoki was gimped for the fight. This is what people have been saying for pages and what the Ali people still refuse to believe.

Think of it this way: put my strength into a 135lb body (I weigh more than Ali did for his matches), add unparalleled speed, then add in the foundations of modern MMA with a proven martial arts style, and you get Lee. That's just ridiculous. An absurd match-up for a boxer that proved he doesn't do very well against unorthodox fighting styles.

Alleged fighting prowess as hearsay, legends and movies don't count in a real fight setting. Just going to have to bite your lip and accept this.

The fight ended in a draw, that martial-artist was 220lbs, as tall as Ali and Ali wasn't in his prime, as he would be here. Point was, Ali can take a kick and not be destroyed as some argued here. Ali can also take a punch, many of them in fact. Lee's not proven this.

LoL, "martial art ignorance", coming from someone who's basing Lee's supposed fighting abilities on action films and demonstrations against objects and people standing still.

Ali's "legend" has a solid fighting-record to back it up. What proof do you have for Lee? Enter The Dragon, his one-inch punch demonstration, some Asian guy(what what his fight-record?) he took out and the rantings of other celebrities.
