Muhammad Ali or Bruce Lee?

In fact, that's just stupid strong for someone that weighs 135-145 lbs. To be honest, it hurts quite a bit to do the same feat with just 60lbs...much less even attempting 70. 🙁

Overall, it favors Lee. If Lee was very weak but still had his speed, I would give it to Ali. But Lee has strength behind his stupid fast speed. Lee also has many other things going for him that make an street fight or an MMA fight in Lee's favor.

Well, we've been over this before. None of those strength feats are actually verified and neither are his practical skills. We both know how ridiculous holding 70 lbs (125 lbs by some accounts) dumbells out in front of your body is. That is something someone has to prove before we accept it.

Based on actual evidence, Lee really was an athletic dude who had some decent fighting theories.

👆 Pure wisdom.

Bruce used to use a 50 pound weight built on a crude invention of his to practice his inch punch, and do this for very long periods of time. I'm not sure that I would give Ali the durability over Lee to be honest. Lee, used to do so many push ups that he had to figure out a way to save time while doing other activities, so he strapped on electric pads to stimulate his pectoral muscles. Lee's endurance was absolutely incredible for a human being. People forget how hard it is to maintain a horse stance, if they even know what one is. I challenge anyone to go into a horse stance, and maintain it for 10 minutes. Lee could remain in this stance for over an hour at a time, and still throw punches.

Compared to Lee's level of athleticism, Ali was an out of shape old man. Your post was dead on the money.

You operate on the assumption that all of his unproven abilities are true though. You guys are essentially going "this sounds cool, so Lee could definitely do it."

Since you want to go that route, Ali claimed to fight whales and handcuff lightning. He'd murder Lee.

some Asian guy(what what his fight-record?) he took out

If it's Wong Jackman, even that has never been verified.

But it was seen in a movie.

Yeah he was so fast that one time in his hotel room he turned his light off and was in bed before the room was dark.

And there was the time he beat Superman.
Sure its not filmed, but DC's illustrators were able to draw what happened.

This is my favorite part.

It's the part where you deny what took place. Separating myth from fact can be difficult, I agree.

If you go back through what I have stated, you'll find no such references to "unproven" feats. I never brought up the rice grain "feat". Nor the coin "feat". Well, there's a list 3 miles long of silly things Lee never did.

Edit - But since you want to go that route, Lee claimed to be able to beat anyone in the world. So Lee wins by your logic.

Well, SirWS, I just showed you that Wing Chun, no matter the form, does have belted forms. It was the first link in a google search. We Americans like to...get this...Americanize lots of shit. We are fat and boss like that. 😄

And those Wing Chun trainees would redirect the hook like it was nothing. 🙂 Like water...weeeeeee!

Yeah, but I could open a wing chun school and award double black belts with sprinkles on top, don't think that makes the people I award them to capable fighters though.

The wing chun Bruce Lee learned definitely did not have a belt grade system

I respect your argument and see where you're coming from, and in a debate, you win a flawless victory based off of the premise, that incredible tales indeed require incredible proof when debating things of this nature. I however have seen all of the proof that's needed to believe that Bruce Lee was a great fighter, and attained great physical conditioning. I suspect that other people who believe that Lee could beat Ali feel the same way. However, no proof = no fries even with footage, that could not be spiked too much due to the limited technology in special effects of that era, and with our technology in video effects, we would have been able to spot video doctoring years ago.

Also I would like to add that it would probably be easier to prove the ancient riddles of this world before anyone could prove that Ali could beat Lee, or vice versa. After all, Bruce is dead, and Ali is a disabled older gentlemen.

But the subject is "at their primes".

That particular school I used can trace associations back to Bruce Lee (through their sensei It was something like "My sensei trained with this guy...and this guy was one of the only 4 people to be certified in Jeet Kun Do by Bruce Lee). I didn't chose the black belt school, willy nilly.

Good think this is MMA where Ali showed he wasn't very effective, at all, right?

Good thing Bruce Lee hasn't shown any real-world MMA (or otherwise) fighting skills against an actual opponent with a proven record.

Yes, you didn't mention all of the absurd feats. I commend you on that; however, mentioning the slightly less outlandish feats doesn't make them true. A 135 lbs man would be laughed out of a gym if he claimed he could hold 70-125 lbs dumbells straight out in front of him. That is something he'd have to prove.

Robtard, that is the greatest post in the history of the internet.

Do you doubt the power of sprinkle belts?

Well, we are largely on the same page then. I don't agree with the stance, but I don't have much problem with the pro-Lee belief itself. It's the implications behind it that get me. I want people to consider verifiability and facts before making a decision.

.....sooooooo we're cool. 😛

I am Wang! Fedor beat that big guy Hung Man Choi (I think) after he dropped Fedor on his head. That said Fedor in his prime would destroy Lee. Now Fedor (s. Ali would be a great fight as no top boxer has ever entered an MMA Octagon and look how well the likes of Anderson Silva do with boxing or Lee Murray did with boxing against old big evil in a street fight. The little guy in the vids Muay Thai would destroy Wing Chun and Lee. Full contact fighters will win every time against people who fight wooden dummies.

Smurfs, judging by that hair.

Smurfs and satanic fury.

For that is what he unleashed (very slowly unlike Ali) one cement sack punch at a time(unlike Ali) upon that more vertically challenged "opponent" of his..
