This is just utterly stupid now.
Ali trained, fought, and went through some pretty intense battles (Smokin' Joe comes to mind 😉 ). And they were battles. Ali was (and is to many) considered the best at what he did, ever.
Lee was a little guy who knew some martial arts, but never used them for real. And just in general, never did anything. The only examples of Lee's "abilities" are in his movies where he breaks necks and goes "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!" and flexes for 2 min's
Seriously guys, Lee was a showman. He was a good flashy quick guy who was damn good at looking awesome in movies.
Other then that, hes REALLY nothing. His "Mystique" is what made him a "legend", Not anything to do with his fighting abilities or anything else for that matter. Had Lee not died so tragically then I highly doubt many people would know him. Except for the guys who are obsessed with old martial arts movies.
Ali is a proven warrior. He was the "Greatest". Maybe ever.
Lee was nothing other then a martial arts movie star who had an affinity for coming up with cool lines that made him sound mystical and cool.
All in all, there is just nothing to support that Lee was "better" or even just "good" at anything to do with fighting. There's just nothing to support anything to to with Lee and fighting at all. Nothing substantial at any rate.
Ali was a little bit of a different story I would say, wouldn't you?

Thanks, I just wish people would understand that Lee was not a superhuman. He wasent even anything other then a martial arts movie star.
Ali was trained for "war". Ali WTFpwnes.
This thread has really been kept going by Karate "Kids" who guys like Smiley, Styletime, Sadako, You and I ask for proof from and they say "Kung Fu beats Boxing", I suggest they take a 9 stone Kung Fu expert down to the local boxing gym and get him to fight a pro heavyweight. 🙂

Well yes. To me I thought that was obvious.... 😕
Martial artist would get WTFpwned by boxers. You wouldn't even need a "Pro" boxer. Just a moderately good one, not even a heavyweight either.
These "Kung fu" guys watch too many Jackie Chan movies and obviously have no concept of what they're talking about.
I say this not to flame on the "pro-Lee" people. I say this because anyone with any kind of martial arts/ boxing experience or knowledge would already know this.

agreed again 😂 !! 🙂
Although my scenario using a Pro heavyweight is more painful for the 9 stone kung fu expert than yours! 🙂

Well yes. lol 😛
What I'm saying is that you could take the world champion of any martial art you want and put him up against say, the Canadian champion of boxing at as close a size and weight of the martial artist (so as close to equal size and weight as possible) and the Canadian champion would horribly mash the WORLD champion of whatever art you want. The only arts that would stand even a small chance are jujitsu and judo and thats only because they are grappling arts. Everyone else would get pWned.

I think Muay Thai and Wrestling also are in with a chance. I have seen good boxers have their legs kicked to the point they cannot stand in mixed bouts with Muay Thai boxers.

No because Ali is far to light to be effective he would just bounce, unfortunately effective leg kicks require equality in bodyweight you understand the physics behind effective striking...... right? From your comments I doubt you do!
I know you must get sick of this thread every serious poster laughing at you! Please do yourself a favour and try some martial arts on a boxer! 🙂
For all your posts about it I'll turn on a head...
Why don't you take an amature boxer down to a karate dojo?
Yes the point is still flawed...
Bruce was far from weak, I know you got your nice little theory pages saying he was 25th or something... But the guys power was clear to see in the demo video (somewhere on the net... A link eludes me now) If I recall he side kicked a guy a good 5 meters... His kicks Will hurt.
Your jabs at me are getting dull whirly! Like I care if someone doesn't like my posts... But I guess these things matter to you! Looking cool on the internet must really keep you warm at night...

Funny I've seen a pro boxer called Delry Bryant who beat Kirkland Lang in 1990 go down a Tae Kwon Do Club and tear them apart in free fighting!
You're point. The club was Yin Yang in Nottingham the then British Champions!
Thats a running pushing sidekick he uses 😂 Leg kicks require weight and momentum to be effective otherwise like with any light object striking a heavier one it bounces. You understand thigh bones really can't be broken with kicks.

Muay Thai, Kyokushin karate, Seido Kaikan karate, and kickboxing all have a superior track record against boxing. These are just some striking styles that usually trump boxing. I'd make a grappling list, but it's too long and it's late.

Believe it or not, most of the fighters seen kicking legs out from under people have been good karate fighters. Most people can't separate the good karate fighters from the bad.

Actually Soleran it really couldn't due to the tubular construction of the thigh bone. Leg kicks have a cumulative effect the damage they cause is due to haematoma stopping blood flow to the legs and the legs cramping.
This Research shows how few bones are broken in Muay Thai bouts

Yeah most leg kicks in Muy Thai are not kicks aimed at the femur but at the tibia and fibula............those can snap MUCH MUCH easier indeed. Not to mention a kick from a sideangle to the shin with the proper force is practically a guarantee break.......
That said Bruce could win some fights and should if it is an unconventional fight however majority to Ali because he has more room for errors.
