Varm would have to be pretty dumb to fall for that. Andro doesn't really have time to mess around whilst not breathing.

"You seem more like you are stalking him to me," says Kathya, as a scream of pain emerges from within.

"Is there a problem?" asks the nurse.

"No," says Kathya, "I am sure Mr. Klinge-Faust was just leaving."

"What do you take me for, Kathya, that you will not hear me out?" Gallagher says. "So I don't seem like one of those rich, fancy noblemen that my relatives turned out to be. I don't own half of Thespion, at least not now."

(Another disturbing thought regarding Deel's murder by Varm; Varm might have discovered who I am through him, since Deel knew a lot about the Klinge-Faust family, being that he's a business man)

"There's always another truth behind a man's words," says Kathya.

"Then what is the truth behind mine?" says Zaland. "I am a Guardian from the Line of Guardians, and this is my charge. Do you doubt me?"

The two of them lock eyes for a moment, with an intensity seemingly strong enough to cause a static discharge.

"I'm not sure I understand," says the nurse.

"Regardless," says Kathya, turning back to you, Gallagher, "in case you hadn't noticed, the Abbot is not exactly in a position to speak to anyone right now."

Gallagher gives Zaland an approving nod.

"I can wait...erm...Kathya, wasn't it?" Gallagher asks. "Scroop Klinge-Faust, though you already seem to know who I am."

What forms of combat does Zaland use? Guns and hand-to-hand, right?

Yup.

"He will be too unwell to speak to anyone for quite some time," says Kathya.

"I must speak with him today," Gallagher says. "Tomorrow might be too late, you know."

I went back to read my vision, and now there are some worrying thoughts running through my head. Now that I've met Kathya, I know who the woman's voice in my vision belongs to. Is it the same woman's voice that orders a man to turn his gun on himself as the woman's voice that joins Varm in laughing at me from atop the tower?

And are there any towers on Spiridos?

"Then too late it will havr to be."

Kathya's voice IS that of the woman in your vision.

You did not hear the voice that brings death, you just know it exists.

There are no significant towers here, no.

"I don't think I have the ability to speak with dead men," Gallagher says, keeping his happy demeanor.

"Hey now," says the nurse, "what is THAT meant to mean?"

"That sounds awfully like a threat oe me," says Kathya.

"Mr. Klinge-Faust," says the nurse, "you can't go around saying that kind of thing!"

"You misunderstand me," Gallagher says. "He is sick, is he not?"

"But not dying!" says the nurse. "That's why he is here!"

"Then I apologize, I am in error."

"Kathya, is it possible that I may set up a meeting with him when he is feeling well enough to do so? He will not be feeling well after having that laser put to his spine- I saw the treatment the other day, seemed painful- understandable, but that may mean that he will be well enough to talk later."

"No," she says. "Once he is recovered, he will be gone. No-one has an appointment with the Abbot unless organised by his secretary."

"And who would that be?"

She smiles.

"Me," she says.

"Then I would assume I would be able to address you as his secretary, then," Gallagher says, returning the smile. "It seems your policy would be that if you organize a meeting through you, you can talk to Abbott Sienar, but you're not allowed to organize a meeting."

"I chose not to," she says, "as a matter of his well-being. Now, shouldn't you be moving along now?"

A red light goes on by the door, and the nurse excuses herself and moves inside.

"One meeting with him is all I ask, Kathya," Gallagher says, watching the nurse go. "I bear him no ill will, and I know you know it."

Gallagher will Scan her.

Determined. And cold.

"I don't believe that for one moment," says Kathya.

"You can check me for any weapons or means of killing him you think I would have on me before I talk with him, Kathya," Gallagher says, tiredly, holding his arms out by his side as a disarming gesture. "I swear upon my very soul that I do not want to hurt the Abbott. Someone is trying to hurt him, but I do not want them to. What he is doing is a great thing for the Galaxy, and if he leaves this world with it unfinished before he is supposed to, there will be a great ache for everyone."
