He has almost no chance of hitting peter from that far away, its the fact tha he can't use his best abilities, and that one good hit would put him down.

I think Spidey fought the Molten Man. Dont know how hot he is but Spidey has definetley fight against people with such powers. I think he even used his normal web to punch the Molten Man who is more durable than HT. And yes his web is to some degree fireproof.
And I can remember where Spidey and Ht fight for fun and Spidey won, he tricked HT into a huge water barrel.
