He literally impaled her in the chest (Because that kills so many people in Bleach amirite) and laughed like an idiot before being stabbed in the head.

Like a boss apparently.

Beyond that, I'm not a fan of "Informed Abilities" in general, show don't tell mother****er.

Just like most fights in Manga, they are always chess matches. Not knowing a character's abilities is how they win and lose.

And yeah now, it would be like the Flash losing a fight to Deathstroke because he suddenly forgot he has an enormous amount of superspeed (This happened).

But I digress.

HA!

Rukia won that fight because she remembered something very very very basic.

I'm not sure what you are saying?

Surely bringing all you have out right away before your opponent can properly counter it and crushing them under the combined might of your varied abilities is more practical than holding back the bulk of them?

Its not awesome because she lost, pretty badly too, and she only killed him because of sheer incompetence and idiocy on his part.

Neme's right. That isn't badass. Its ****ing retarded.

And I really don't see how it was 'like a chess match.' In chess, you always know how all the pieces move, so wth.

But bringing out each of those abilities may be detrimental as they each may be small petty abilities that require him to focus his attention and powers on doing those small and mostly useless things.

Why even give him all those powers if he's never going to use them?

That doesn't add up.

He bragged about his numerous abilities of awesomeness, why brag about shitty ass abilities that apparently amount to little more than parlor tricks?

Remember that each of these abilities would be backed by Espada level reitsu, so even abilities that were fairly minor when used by the original Hollow could be fairly devastating used by assblaster whose name I can't remember how to spell.

That's because you don't know what moves your opponent is going to make until they make them.

Since there are literally so many different moves to be made in a chess game that we do not have the computing power to calculate all of the possibilities, yet, comparing unknowns in a game of wits to another game of wits that works on unknowns, is a fairly easy to see comparison.

You may know how all of the pieces move, but you do not know where those pieces will be in even 3 moves (chess masters that claim to know where their opponents will move in up to 5 moves are simply lying: they have a general idea of the optimal moves from the other player up to 5 moves...they don't actually know because it would require computing power too far beyond human ability to think.)

Because bad guys brag in shonen manga all the time and he's trying to intimidate and play with his prey.

Makes perfect sense if you look at it like shounen fiction instead of a logic puzzle.

I disagree. He may be an espada, but not because of his rieryoku levels. It was due to all the jutsus...I mean abilities he stole and some of them were quite formidable.

So he's a joke villain? Someone not even worthy of mention akin to Guldo of the Ginyu Force?

Because when Freeza bragged, he could actually back up a lot of his boasts by legitimately being extremely powerful. When a villain brags and is outright lying, they lose credibility as a villain.

So the fight is not awesome because Aarindslnfdjksngfo jwer is a loser and a sissy girl.

Actually IIRC the Espada were ranked in terms of enormity of rieryoku. Yammy for instance legitimately had an incredible amount of spiritual power, but due to its size he couldn't control it in broken ass ways like Barragan. According to some sourcebook or whatever Kubo released I think.

And now he was ranked so high because his abilities are awesome, huh? estahuh

The proper DBZ villain to compare Aaroniro to would be Cell, who said he could use the Spirit Bomb but never did iirc.

Since when has the Spirit Bomb ever killed anyone?

And not really. Cell did demonstrate the abilities of several characters, a few times, even if only subtlely. He even combined different powers.

For instance, he combined Freeza's biological ability to survive any amount of punishment short of complete annihilation, no matter how severe, and combined it with Piccolo's regenerative abilities.

Which allowed him to regenerate from a single cell.

So nah, Cell is a character like nine guy done right.

Indeed. Frieza is not a character like 9 guy, Cell is. Make the proper comparison. 😛

Um, what?

Did you actually read my post?

Indeed. You compared him to Frieza, when the proper comparison would be with Cell. You then specified how Cell is like Aaroniro in the hands of a good writer. And I agree.

:3

Shut the **** up.

You're speaking of two different contexts, speck. estahuh

Characters in Bleach seem to say "shit" a lot. Are they aware of the kind of manga they're in?

If you go back through my posts, you'll not see me arguing that the fight was awesome and that Rukia is awesome for winning it.

Nah.

Szayel Aporro Granz isn't that high. They were chosen for their combat abilities, not their spiritual pressure. It just so happens that it generally follows a path of greater spiritual pressure.

No, what I said. 🙂

It's combat ability, not spiritual pressure.

If you consider him based on combat power, he would be the most powerful. He can spam the utter living crap out of ultra cero blasts and appears to be the physical strongest.

I'd take those abilities over the small area of effect "aging" stuff that Bargs uses.

Starrk could spam Ceros...but they were not nearly as powerful as Yammy's. Yammy was just slow and combersome but could create the largest amount of damage in the shortest amount of time.

If the Espada are ranked by combat ability then how come a fumbling retard like Yammy was the highest ranked? Yeah, no. Its rieryoku.

1. You're one of the few that actually call it by the correct name: Rieryoku. 😄 👆 clap

2. It's combat ability. Technically, Ulq had far higher Rieryoku levels than anyone else including Starrk when he went into his second release. So why wasn't he ranked #1? I used to theorize that Ulq's second form was unknown to Aizen because he said it was...but that's not true because Aizen seemed aware of Ichigo having fought a higher form of Ulq.

3. Combat ability is actually it because Szayel and Airenenroneoridfjowienf have low spiritual pressure (Airenrnoeorr is around that of a Lieutenant. Nya nya. Rukia sensed him and thought it Shiba.) Even Szayel comments on his crappiness.

So now that you know I'm right, I want a chocolate frosty from Wendy's.
