on another note, that Kirge guy's ability to pretty much add a person's power and partially their appearance to his own could potentially be a pretty broken ability in Bleach if the other quincy (and I'm sure they can) can use it, especially their commander.
Yeah, it should be a standard ability to the Quincy that can use Vollständig/Letzt Stil at least.

A couple of years ago, I realized Uryu should have had this ability to absorb Shinigami when he used Letzt Stil in Soul Society. Looks like the writer finally wrote it in.

super13

I was hoping Ichigo could go at least one more chapter w/o using bankai. It's release is as unimpressive as ever.

Cool trick for Kirge to pick up though this makes me wonder why Uryu never tried to absord Mayuri's zanpakuto.

Meh, good feat for Kirge though, physically blocking a strike from Ichigo's Bankai.

He didn't know how to do it, or couldn't do it?

Well considering how both Grimmjow, Ulquiorra, Aizen, and Nnoitra have done that, it isn't as impressive as it sound. Thought the fact that Kirge is actually a competent opponent is impressive.

Gotdamnit Uryu for not abusing your pontential hax.

So... Ichigo's going to try and beat Kirge with reaitsu? I really hope he starts using his hyper speed or something.

Yeah, but he was struggling with his Hollow and/or tired when he clashed with the dudes you mentioned.
This is post Fullbring arc Ichigo, i.e. an Ichigo who looks to be more powerful than he was pre-Jinzen.

Doesn't look very hax, just OP. Orihime and Chad weren't absorbed as quickly as Allon, and Ichigo was able to stop the move. Maybe in Quincy Emperor's hands it will be more hax. Kirge is kewl though. Despite looking flamboyant like Yumichika, he can kick ass.

Kirge is surprisingly kewl. Flamboyant yet oddly creepy in his own way. Plus being pretty darn strong.

I see what Kubo did there: He introduces Ivan and that other guy as his stereotypical villains(Ivan is supposed to be the hot headed rival character and the other guy was going to be the smug, condescending one) and then fawking offs them. Pretty nice to see him acknowledge that fault of his.

I didn't really like this chapter

I thought that was a pretty cool technique. A fairly natural expansion of what came before, and overpowered without being annoying-hax.

I don't know. It just seems that he has a "jutsu" to pwn for any situation. And they are all *sspulled out of thin air.

Kubo gets to hide behind the shroud of: Well, it's a new "race"!

Why do people keep calling asspull?

This is the first time we've seen Kirge fight, and he has a different technique from Ishida's and is clearly more experienced with it. That's like saying Kakashi asspulled Raikiri during his fight with Zabuza. :T

Who else apart from ddm called it an asspull?

Neph.

But he was just more or less complaining about how standard the whole fight seemed.

Asspull for a Quincy?

Yes.

We already know the Quincy power set.

"But dey evawlved, mang, since teh war 200 years ago!"

Oh, in other words, asspull. Kubo wanted to add new abilities to have a story. Asspull.

Up until Renji showed up we have a pretty good idea on the Shinigami powers. ._.

This is merely the difference between an experienced Quincy and an inexperienced one.

lol

And you based this on what?

A child prodigy using the ultimate Quincy artifacts and........an asspull character? Makes no sense. There is no justification other than Kubo wanting a story. He had to create resistance. So he asspulled more powers for the quincies to have a story. He could have just used an entirely new "species"/"race"...like "Hell" demons or something. That would have made more sense. But, instead, he is ****ing with existing lore/characters.

Well considering this is an amped version of the technique that all quincies can do, I don't really think Kirge has much of an ass pull tech.

Though considering these new quincies can use other weapons besides bows, I wonder if they can make a quincy gun or something.

Is it really?

Shouldn't it burn up Kirge's quincy powers? lol

Based on the fact that Ryuken said that Ishida lacked talent as a Quincy. Case in point, Ishida's Letzt Stil only absorbed a small amount of spiritons and didn't allow him to go so far as to absorb actual people. Kirge on the other hand is a soldier prepped for war and has been involved with other Quincy. It's only natural that he is going to be able to do things better than Ishida.

Well he's absorbing reishi technically.

Who says it doesn't? I don't recall Kirge saying he could keep this form up forever.

Which is an asspull, by the way.

Ishida was trained by his grandfather and lived with his father: quincy.

You're forgetting one major point: Ishida was deemed "powerful"/ interesting, better than his predecessors by Mr. Perv. Ishida was an awesome Quincy...until this arc when his awesomeness was retconned. 🙂
