Kubo is the story teller and decides how useful they are.

Cue Ball has better showings and is more of an influence on the plot.

I think I didn't make myself clear and that's definitely my fault. What I meant was: Kubo isn't giving Kira enough "screen time" to flex more of Kira's cool brain in fights.

As far as power, yes. But in brains? Nah. Kira is lacking in power, I admit. But he is very well-rounded in ability.

Speaking of which, does anyone collect manga anymore?

Fifty-five volumes, each for 69 SEK where I live. That's 3,795 SEK -- or 528 USD -- and that's for just one series, and it's not as if I reread the issues. Besides my current manga collection occupies way too much space. Space I need for course literature, novels, movies, and games.

I do, but I also am the type to re-read and find books much easier to do so than online.

Not Bleach any more, though, because of the obvious.

Very much like Naruto, this was just okay. Set up for our big fights. Bambietta fighting is bonerific.

The people are pairing up against their opponents. But **** me if it isn't good to see some carnage. That F girl is awesome. Just killing all those Shinigami. Merciless.

Thankfully the fighting seems like it will be done by the more important side characters(not ****ing Yumichika right now). I'm seriously looking forward to seeing the captains get their teeth kicked in.

Also...Shinsui looked cool.

Kubo needs to stop using excessively large panels. It's not. Also Renji needs to die a painful death or at least have a hole put in his chest.

This chapter wasn't really likeable at all. Nothing happened other than fight setups but did we really need an entire chapter of wordless art to do that....damn it all.

Oh and I really wonder what Rukia expects to do in this kind of situation.

I'm kinda on the same page as you though at least we did manage to see some slight action with that Vandenreich member killing those soul reapers like nothing and Renji attacking him/her (hard to tell with face hidden). and at least the fighting will start next chapter so it's not like it's going to be a long wait.

Based on the last panel of the previous chapter I expected this chapter to focus on Ichigo's battle. But it made sense that they would first pair up the combatants in Soul society before moving on.

Unless Kirge can hold his own against Ichigo then I don't expect to see that battle in a long time, because Ichigo's return should be at the end of the invasion, or at the very least very far into it.

At least this war seems to have a lot of casualties as opposed to the battles that played out during Fake Karakura town arc.

But I have to say, the names of these Qunicies are ridiculous, and so is the design of the enemy Rōjūrō is fighting. But other than that I'm pleased with the abilities they have.

Yawn...

Like, I agree with what you're saying, but these are things Kubo's been doing since day 1. That s just his terrible art style.

But....Kubo actually used words and background art during day 1.

He does so now, too. His style hadn't changed.

Go look at the early chapters. They've got their fair share of huge panels of nothingness.

There were still words and plot advancement.

Now there are even less words and the story goes nowhere. Kubo could at least make more pages if he's going to declare a war on paper & ink.

To be fair, you shouldn't have time to talk when you're knee-deep into a battle.
