The pair-up between Yamamoto and the emperor seem inevitable. So who will the blonde-haired Stern ritter battle? Because the Shinigami doesn't seem to have a leader's right hand man like that.

Also, what happen with Hiyori and Lisa? Last time we saw them was when a rift opened next to them. Will we see their carcasses on spikes in some future chapter? Because that would be awesome.

It's funny how good aligned characters surviving is seen as bad in this series. That's my favourite thing about Bleach, other than the enormous empty panels, bad plot, bad dialogue and boring fights of course.

I actually like the fights more than One Piece fights.

Fair play. I personally find them too stark and unemotional. I think Kubo overuses the cool, unruffled badass thing, where everyone fixes their opponent with an icy glare before one-shotting them midsentence. It was cool when Byakuya did it, but now everyone looks like they barely care about the fight at all, and are in no danger of losing.

Also, looks like Shunsui decided to skip the war and went to the Colonel for some chicken. I sort of expected this, fighting isn't really his thing.

Eh....honestly, the only one shot in recent memory was Kenpachi vs Giriko. And that was a horrible fight.

Comparatively, the power ups in One Piece just always bugged me. I can't stomach the Gears(2nd really, 3rd is pretty awesome), Sanji's flaming kick bothers me, and Zoro's 6 handed thing just seemed goofy.

Which is why Alabasta is my favorite One Piece arc. On top of a great story, each of the fights were very memorable....Damn that was a good arc.

Not a bad chapter and it raised the stakes for the war. It also allows a lot of butthurt fans to feel smug. Granted, I have a feeling I know the major complaint but at the same time I see the reasoning for what happened in this chapter. And it's nice to see things play out this way.

This chapter, I was finally irritated with the rest of you at the big ass panels that have no content. This chapter could have been 7 pages, at the most.

Well, the point was 4 captains assuming what the enemy did and all losing their bankai at once. Not... exactly a great show of intelligence here.

And, wait a moment, when do Bleach people ever pull out their bankai right out? They changed their tactics to use bankai sooner because they heard their enemy had an anti-bankai technique!

My guess? They honestly just thought of doing the same thing at the same time. That and the 4 that lost their Bankai are the ones most willing to use them(Soi-Fon being the only real exception).

The captains were hilariously dumb this chapter. "Hey these guys have a bankai sealing tech so let use our bankai early so they can seal it away." This was especially bad and out of character for Soi-fon to do so.

So did anything actually happen this chapter other than Byakuya one-uping that one guy?

It's really not all that stupid when you think about it. Particularly in the case of Byakuya. They know they have the ability to at least suppress Bankai but nothing more. Shinigami have fought foes before that can screw with their Zanpakuto and they do okay without them. In this case the Captains merely sacrificed something they already knew they wouldn't be able to use during the fight in order to grasp what it is the Quincy are actually doing.

The problem is that even though on the surface this seems like something simple to do, they hadn't considered someone actually stealing their Bankai. This has no precedent I assume and they would never allow for the power of their Bankai to fall into the Quincy hands.

And of course something happened in this chapter: 4 Captains lost their Bankai. O:

Well if they knew it wasn't going to work, then why use it? So four captains just made the assumption that bankai's would only be in a seal that a lieutenant could break? Though it would serve as a way to bait the VR's attack out if they had just considered other possibilities.

Once again, the fact that four captains though of the same weird plans makes it a dunce moment on their part.

The manga explains why: Because they need more info on how their abilities work. Going with the knowledge that the Quincy were suppressing Bankai(or sealing, whatever), then the Bankai has become worthless. There is no advantage to NOT using it. At least if they sacrifice it from the beginning they have a chance of learning about how the Quincy are sealing their Bankai early on. And they have the backup there to compensate for the lack of Bankai.

However, stealing a Bankai has I assume never been done in Shinigami history. Stealing implies that the Quincy will be able to harness the power of the Bankai themselves. Letting them do that is something that the Captains would not have done. However, they didn't know that. The way Mayuri informed them, they were suppressing Bankai, not stealing them. Remember, Sasikibe was dying so it's not like he could be specific. In fact, the Quincy might have been hoping they knew about the Bankai thing at least partially, so that the Captains would follow the logic above. Sure, the audience knows that the Bankai are being captured based on what happened with Ichigo but the Captains do not.

Really not that hard to tell since Byakuya said the Bankai was stolen and it happened to all of them.

Well, we'll just have to see how it plays out, without their Bankais and all. They'll whoop ass. It's a Manga and they are the good guys. Done deal.

Well they tried to plan ahead at least. Thats an improvement at any rate.
