Nope... ESB rocks all the way. None of the SW films has been able to beat that. At best ROTS ends up somewhere between ANH and ROTJ... at best.

After watching the original movies again I can certainly say that they are better than RotS. Maybe if RotS had held back a little instead of having so many duels (wich ruined the climaxes) and focused a little more on the story it would have been the best.

GL should have made ROTS into TWO movies. That way the seduction would have been more credible, we'd have seen a lot more of the friendship between OB1 and Anakin instead of the bickering in AOTC. And it could have replaced the totally redundant AOTC.

yeah, I actually thought only the first half of the movie was great.
I would have liked a better developed story for the ultimate fight. Such as more focusing on jedi (master) deaths, more aspects of war (it is supposed to be star wars) and an even longer fight between Obi and Anakin with a more surprising end to it perhaps, like Obi Wan suddenly kicking Anakin in the lava instead of Anakin jumping in.

Well, I had no problems with the OB-Anakin fight. The whole build-up (or lack of it) bothers me. It goes from friends to sworn enemies in the blink of an eye...

Whadya mean "focused more on the story".... I think ROTS focused the most out of all the movies, after all, the turning of Anakin to Darth Vader is the ultimate story and it can not get more focused than that!!!!!!!!

Story/plot. Not just people meeting and slashing the shit out of each other.

And no, RotS doesn't contain the most story or whatever you think, in ESB they actually had a somewhat well thought out plot and not Vader and Luke running hand in hand together to some planet to fight.

It would make more sense to say that "ROTS" has maximum ownage than the other way around.

The biggest highlight of "ESb" was Vader revealing himself to Luke as his father. "ROTS" had many more revelations, better action sequences along with the right dose of drama.

"ESb" was good, but "ROTS" was great..See the difference?

It's the originality of ESB people like, I've come to notice. In many years time, there's been countless occasions throughout the entertainment history, where lines or plot from ESB has been quoted.

Can anyone honestly see a bunch of quotes from ROTS being used so extensively?

ESB was new, fresh, uncharted.

ROTS was revealed long beforehand, spoilers everywhere. The basic plot was known by most before the movie came out.

Not to mention, that ESB had one of the most famous lines used in the world.

Combined with numerous spoliers and (in comparison to ESB) rather bad acting, ROTS is far below ESB, yet only on the lists of those with even the most laments of taste.

I like ROTS better because it's a darker story.

I don't think so, it dosen't just blow RotS away, it is a pretty close mathcup. RotS looks better the ESB but that only contributes a little. I like the storyline of RotS better than ESB but you can't beat:
"No Luke, I am your father."

After reading through all the posts, I am now uncertain as to which one.

I don't agree that ROTS looked better, I found the super star destroyers, the battle of hoth and the whole cloud city scenes much better looking. The only thing ROTS has for it are the Mace/Sidious and the Dooku/Anakin fight wich were good.
