Officially renewed for a seventh season. Anyone get the impression Cass is being groomed for a possible villain for season 7? They keep dropping hints he is a "the ends justify the means" kind of guy, not sure Sam and Dean will be cool with whatever it is his been doing that has his Lieutenants trying to kill him.

Agreed. He's so desperate to win his little war that he's getting in to some dark territory.

How did people like the alternate universe episode? I thought it was really well done, and even wondered if i had missed an episode at one point.

I liked it a lot, but I pegged the ult u concept right away when I saw those garish racing strips on the mustang they were driving instead of the impala, so I wasn't really surprised when Ellen showed up.
Balthazar and Cass steal all the scenes when they show up.

Cas as a bad guy...Do not want.
I can see it. I probably would have chosen otherwise, but I can go along with what they're doing, as it's written well imo.
Also, amazing to see that Dean is still a prep god.
Cas being a bad guy isn't something I'm liking the thought of at all. I mean after all he's went through and has had God bring him back not once but twice, the second time more powerful than ever only to have him turn into the villain isn't something that sits well with me. I mean God would have known all this up front and I can't accept the logic of bring back and even upgrading Cas for all his continued perseverance knowing he'd become the villain.
They wanna take Cas down a darker path and have him step to the edge of grey that comes before true darkness takes hold, I'm good with that, I just don't want to see Cas turn into the new evil angel, proving all those others right that compared him to Lucifer after all he's been through and risk he's took to do the right things. But I think maybe thats what next weeks preview showed us. Cas has concerns about what he's becoming and what lengths he's starting to go to to get the job done. He's even out right asking God to stop him from becoming the monster he's realized he could.
I'm ok with them toying with the idea and even walking right up to it as long as they don't actually go through with it.
Also loved Dean's fast one on Mother. My only complaint is I felt it worked too well. It should have weakened her but they should've had to taken that opportunity to somehow hit her with a second final blow. Just what very little she got from whatever amount of Dean's blood she drank in probably not even enough time for it to be diggested in his stomach n liver let alone what little actually absorbed into his bloodstream, shouldn't have been nearly enough to kill her. Just give a good enough blow to open her up to a quick kill shot.
Mark Sheppard is awesome as Crowley. Sure he is more of a sleazy self serving opportunist that a villain, but he was a be better foil than any of the other villains other than Mark Pellegrino's Lucifer. He might not be as powerful but Crowley he is a good deal smarter and cunning then anything we have seen so far, he is certainly a better villain than Eve for damn sure.
That episode explained allot. But I really hated when Cas heard Dean constantly defending him and he still didn't just out and confess what he was doing and why he thought he had to do it.
Every time I heard Crowley speak I just wanted Cas to just say shut up and drop him right there like the piss ant demon he is. I'll admit he's probably the smartest villain they've ever had but they should all know that by now and all the more reason to just "gank" him and not give him the chance to con you.
Loved the last episode. Really showed us that Castiel's motives, and Crowley (who I think is an awesome villain both in writing and portrayal) was just that devious. Looking forward to next week.
Also nice to see (particularly in the last few episodes) just how clever Dean is. I was always afraid as Sam became a bigger deal during the course of the series that they'd let Dean fade a little, but they haven't. He still gets his props no matter what.
