This will be controversial. But my vote goes to Matthew Perry. I know he isn't British, but I think he could carry off the role really well.

If I had to choose a British actor to play the part of Bond, I would probably have to agree with the earlier posts voting for Mcgregor. He would fit the Connery image pretty well.

Actually i honestly dont think there is anyone left out there that can carry off Bond well anymore, when Timothy Dalton was out i knew that Brosnan would do a good job just by his role on remington steele even though his charcter was on the comedic side at times, however he did have the "look". After reading all your posts on the various actors, i think there perhaps only Hugh Jackman may be a good choice, ewan, orlando bloom etc could never play bond, Bond's role is that of an aging playboy secret agent, not a boy agent!!! unless they wanna totally revamp the role and make it a young agent, and destroy the franchise
I think pierce is awesome as bond, but no one can ever be Connery as Bond he was the coolest!

He was in Mimic. That movie with Mira Sorvino and those engenired bugs that grow a lot! He played her husband. And in The Net he played the bad guy that seduces Sandra Bullock.
