For those viewing at home possessing learning difficulties (Spelljammer, Soleran and Julie), I'll explain what I mean.

I value the concept or idea of what it means to be living and be a part of eternity. So I appreciate being alive and being human, the concept of humanity, more than I appreciate individual human beings. I don't place any universal value on the lives on everyone individually across the planet because there are, shock horror, people I dislike more than others, people I like more than others, and a good couple of billion that I've never met or will ever meet. So I couldn't care less.

It's not that hard to follow if you're smart.

The longer explanation is much clearer than your original statement so you might say that it's not so much a matter of being smart as some people around here can't articulate their thoughts very well

Think about what you just said.

If IMPRISONMENT were more successful and life meant life, doing away with it would be fine. Which means justice would be served. Yet you go on to say justice would be better, as if imprisonment isn't justice. So you clearly just want revenge and eye for an eye more than justice.

Actually, locking someone up for life is probably crueler than actually killing them in a painless way....

yeah, for as much as I stand by the death penalty, the way it's used (so ineffectively) doing away with it would probably be okay....with the 3 gazillion appeals the tax payers pay for, it's economically shooting ourselves in the foot...but back to the "life" debate....AC your move:-)

the idea of the death penalty is just....to want someone to pay for the crime of taking a life with their own life....I only wish the system in place were better

That's not just, it's merely copying- two wrongs don't make a right. Justice is broader than that.

Yes, I'm aware of what the death penalty is...it doesn't make sense, it doesn't "solve" anything either.
