Yes I would.
That's due to emotional and personal bias, though.
IF it were up to me, from everything I know that he did to his own people, yes I'd kill myself.
But that's why I'm not a judge, and HATE serving juror.
I recognized this bias within myself, and my biases against a person do NOT give me the RIGHT to kill him.
If I were to send him to Death, or kill him myself, whichever, (when he's already held captive) whether I realize it or not, I am lowering myself.
After I kill him I am no longer the same person I was before I did it. For the rest of my life, I am a person who is responsible for the unnecessary death of another person.
I say unnecessary, because once he is captive he is no longer a threat to anyone. We give him death to satisfy our own urges to serve "Justice"
Sorry PVS..i forgot one crucial word.....

Why do you attempt to make yourself the focus, example and attempted cornerstone of every debate? We're not discussing you, we're discussing the points of view. Nobody is saying put you in charge.

Nope. But people assume that just because I have an opinion, that that means i would ENFORCE it upon other people, and therefore am wrong in doing so.
I am trying to correct that misconception.
Making me the focus ? No dude, ur bugging.
I have a lot to say. That doesn't mean I am TRYING to be the focus of this debate...i have every right to speak my point of view and will continue doing so. 😉
IF I coincidently AM the focus of this debate, well then KUDOS to me 😱
you might come off as more intelligent if you QUIT capitalising WORDS like THIS.
more importantly, please
space your
paragraphs properly because its
a pain in the ass to
have to read something
so ridiculously spaced as this.
see...look:

I would be all for the death penalty if there wasn't the chance that an inmate could be wrongly convicted. It happens all the time. If they are imprisoned they can be freed if found to actually be innocent, but if they are executed then later found innocent, well you can't help them then.
Despite this though I do believe murderers should be executed.
It is an economic alternative to life inprisonment. If properly handled (meaning public executions rather than doing it in secret as is now often the case in many countries) it can also act as a powerful deterrent for would be criminals.
So yes, I'm in favour of it though not as a penalty for everything. It should be reserved for those cases where the alternative would have been a life sentence (or the equivalent, some countries don't lock people up for more than a specific time for economic reasons, then let them loose on society once more to commit more crimes).
And there should not be the decades long appeals process that there is now in the US for example.
The old addage, charge them at noon, convict them at teatime, hang them at dawn, works quite well.
Personally if I were king (Wouldn't that scare a lot of people), I'd expand the death penalty, and as was said earlier streamline the appeals process.
I'd make the death penalty mandatory for the following crimes:
1 - Any murder no more degrees (this doesn't include manslaughter which is different.)
2 - Child molestation
3 - any rape after already having a rape conviction.
3 - treason
A date and time for the execution should be set at the sentencing phase of the trial and should be within 1 year of the end of the trial. All appeals should be done by then.
I do think that any death penalty case needs the option of an appeals process, but it could be greatly streamlined. Perhaps committees could be formed to investigate things and expedite findings and decisions.

I'm going to have to ask for a reasonable explanation as to why someone who hasn't killed anyone, deserves to be killed.
I don't agree with the death penalty, but if an eye for an eye is your mentality, at least be consistent and make it for murder only. Death for anything other than murder is an eye for a head.

Actually it would be more the head for an eye.
The fact is that often the victims of sexual crimes basically suffer for the rest of their lives. In effect the rapist or pedophile takes the persons life away without even killing them.
Truth be told, I think that some things are worse than death. I would have to say that between murder and child molestation, murder is in my mind the lesser crime. So in an eye for an eye system the molester would actually be getting off easy, but hey as much as I would emotionally favor torturing people like that, logically the line has to be drawn somewhere.

You can sit there and say "They've taken their life away" all you want, but the fact is, they haven't actually taken a life. Many rape victims move on, many molested children move on. Some females never get over abusive relationships, are you to kill the boyfriends?
Death for anything other than murder is outrageous, and I'm against the death penalty as it is.
Eternal death in retaliation for touching some boy's penis is a bit much.
