Death Penalty

Many times LEO's have to make an equal action against a felon/convict ect in the performance of their duties. Does that make them morally wrong? I know its different than revenge but I go to work everyday knowing that I may have to take a life.

There is a major difference between being a Soldier or Officer, and then being an Executioner.

Exactly. To enact Revenge is to equate yourself with that person.

Even though I wouldnt blame someone if they killed the guy who killed their kid 😬

I dont know how I would live with myself not

I'd have no problem killing someone that murdered my child, wouldn't loose a single night of rest over it.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over killing the guy that killed my kid. I'd probably lose quite a few just because my kid got killed in the first place though.

I am undecided...

I think that murderers and rapists should be "removed" from society, since they seem not to want be part of it, but I'm not so sure that the death penalty is the way to go.

A guy that rented from me had a sister that was raped when she was young. her father walked into the guys house and laid waste to him with a 12 ga. When asked if he regretted it his answer was clearly no. He went to prison of course but he thought it was a small price to pay. To be honest Id say his time in prison wasnt that bad because everyone knew what he was in for.

So you are no better when you commit an act that is equal to what the criminal did him or herself.

Do if if you want, but do not call yourself his or her moral superior.

Who said I was? And actually who says the death penalty is equal to the act committed by the criminal anyway?

Wow, I dont blame him.

Although I probobly would have just beat the living s**t out of him rather than killing him

True story Grimm, Though I tendto agree with you on one point. I may not have killed him. I could have thought of a more fitting punishment.

No ah days victims in court are known as witnesses.

Exactly. The word 'victim' is removed. Suddenly they are no longer the victim of an horrific crime, they become witnesses.

Not only am I totally for it I think it's use should be expanded beyond murder.

The death penalty should MANDATORY for all cases of murder and should also be given vor rape of a minor and extreme cases of child or elderly abuse and extreme animal cruelty.

Also, jaywalking.

I'm not sure how much benefit the death penalty offers society. I'm also not sure how much effect imprisonment has on rehabilitation and deterrence. Considering that most convicts are repeat offenders their entire life. I am inclined to say that imprisonment has little effect. Considering that innocent men are executed quite often. It seems that the entire death penalty structure is compromised

We're too soft on overdue library books too.

True, might be worse.
