Today
Staring at the blank screen
The little black cursor blinking,
Innocently
As if waiting,
Waiting for me
To put words to the jumbled
Mess in my head
But the words are eluding me
Just out of my reach

The keys upon the board
Are lonely, without sound
No click-clack of them singing
With joy
For there is only agony
Of trying to wrie
What seemed so easy
Just moments before
Now cursing the dreaded
Writer’s block

true story...

Sounds exactly like what's been happening to me on and off for a while... it's sooo frustrating sometimes lol

Well, its been a while. And now I bring a product of staying up too late and doing homework at the last minute. For this was homework.

That non-existent attic

We don’t have an attic
I’ve always wanted one.
I suppose one could call the space
Between the ceiling and the roof
An attic
I wouldn’t though
It’s just that—
Space

It has a hole,
The ceiling,
A big gaping hole
Looks like jagged teeth

The pine in the front yard

The hurricane

True story. Well the first line is anyway.

I tried to define God yesterday
He’s (She?) supposed to be
A deity
I figured there would be more—
More than one, that is
So it’s not God
But god.

Err…Ms. Rain?
I was wondering…
Can you stop?
Please?
I know you probably
want to fall, but…
I have to walk home today.
Yeah…sad… so…will you?
You don’t have too—obviously—
But I just don’t want to get
Pneumonia today
Remember what happened
Last time? It was horrid .
Did you hear
The coughing, sniffles, congestion
That plagued me? Did you even care ?
Or do you take sadistic delight in my pain?
In my fear of you—in the rain?

I wrote this in English because it was raining and I had to walk home. She didn’t listen of course; it was still raining when I got out. I guess that answers my last question.
