That, or a new computer, or paying off my car insurance for 6 months, or going towards when I move out, or going towards paying for a vacation...or many many things 😛
Although I'll miss my room dearly, I feel that now that I've turned 20 I'm supposed to move out or something and I know that I'm nowhere near ready to do that, emotionally/mentally nor financially.
I do tell myself that I'm in college, so it can't be all bad that I'm still living at home. I am doing SOMETHING as of ahora mismo with my life.
But yeah. I've been hinting left and right that maybe I should move out now.....................I'm not ready though.
Don't even know if I want to.
Anyway.....................back to games...............................I've got nothing. ermm

As for Oblivion, if Sixaxis allows me to swing my sword around with a wave of the controller, I'd take that over an analogue stick any day, so port or no port, if its done properly, it can be a whole different experience to that of the 360.
I'd also like to point out that GTA4 is NOT going to be a PS3 exclusive, and Elder Scrolls will be a port.
Originally posted by MadMelDS doesn't allow you to check your harddrive from any part of the world insert pictures via blue tooth into your PS3, uses the console as a loctionfree player or other media stuff, so in a way, the DS is most likly to just have game to game connectivity, as for other things, we'll have to wait and see. And as for backwards compatible, doesn't really matter, saying that, how do you get hold of your VC games? Don't you pay? With PS3s you just stick in your old CDs, but Nintendo had cartridges.
wii has both (except with DS, not psp), has the VC and its a hell of a lot cheaper..
Originally posted by AstroFanBecause despite the CG, the first Killzone was rather rushed but had a very good plot, and I think with a bit of elaboration, it could get somewhere, I don't want it to be a Halo beater, in fact, I don't want it to have anything to do with Halo, I want it to have its own name, not a Halo copy, but Killzone, just Killzone. And Liberation on PSP is awesome. The single player was good, but the multiplayer was terrible. And due to the PS2's power, it could never reach Halo standards, it just wasn't possible, hopefully this time round it will be everything Killzone fans or FPS fans buying PS3 will want. Liberation tells me this is possible if done right.
Why is everyone looking forward to Killzone? Is it that horrifically fake trailer? I thought the first game sucked.
Originally posted by H. That won't stop some gamers though, but it will hurt many financially.
That's interesting, because the PS3 had such an underwhelming launch, and the Wii has outsold it nearly three times over. Don't know where you're getting the idea that "people have no problem paying $600" for a console.
Originally posted by LanaWell when you think about it, the money paid for any console could go towards something better, just depends on what, in some terms, the money spent buying any of those consoles out there could go towards upgrading my PC and having still just as much fun if not more then the consoles at the mo offer, especially with the release of vista. And we all know Vista is going to own 🙂 I can still get a variety of 360 games on PC as they port to it, so I'm not missing out on much. And a mouse will make up for the Wiimote 🙂
Yeah, I can definitely think of a hell of a lot of things I'd rather put $600 towards than a PS3.
The sixaxis has been there for nothing so far. And as for using the controller like your current weapon in Oblivion, go grab your dualshock (since it's the same) and swing it around a bit. Not exactly the ideal shape for sword swinging. Not to mention the sixaxis isn't motion sensing anyway, it's just tilt sensing. Sony added it to copy Nintendo and trick people into thinking they'd compete, but they bungled the function so badly that no games are using it for anything important to the game.

Wii is designed for sword swinging, but just because the PS3 is tilt sensing doesn't mean it can't be used to control the swinging of the sword and easier targeting. Whether they copied Nintendo or not is old news, everyone knows about it now, so theres little or no reason to keep it going on, what should be discussed is how well it is incorperated into gameplay, with just rumble missing, the PS3 controller isn't missing much. its just got tilt added as well. And as you said, been there for nothing? Its being used in pretty much everything on the PS3 thus far, just not very good. but if this becomes the new thing, there is no reason for Micro to miss out on it next gen, believe me, they too will jump on the band wagon, I mean whether Sony copied or not is the least of my concern now, because when I think of how much easier it will be for me to make fast turns in FPS games, fly around in flight simulators, hack and slash in God of war 3 (if it ever came out), target enemies in games, play RTS games and select troops faster and easier, I'm kinda glad Sony took that root, analogue always annoyed me, thus making me not enjoy FPS or RTS on consoles much and much prefering it on PC, no matter what the placement of buttons is on the 360 controller or how comfortable it is, turning won't be as fluent as just flicking your controller sideways and blasting an alien behind you in Halo, or whacking a brute in the face with you gun by flicking it rather then press A to hit, press this to do that, press that to do this. And the warthog, wouldn't it be much easier to drive and target from? The thought of playing sims, or Command and conquerer with a 360 controller already gets me frustrated thinking of attempting to select your sim or troops while they are moving with analogue. Think about it, if Gears of war had motion as well as vibrate, wouldn't that be awesome?
Yeah, it may be missing vibrate, and may not be as great as Wiimote, but lets face it, if Micro had done it, not one of you would be complaining, you'd just deal with it, infact you would be laughing at PS3 fanboys for not having it, contradictory? Damn right.
I know motion is not used much, but when it can be, it can be great, blazing angels sux, anyone has to admit that, but with sixaxis it can make it just that slightly more appealing, its a shame they completly refurbished the game and created a mess with the PS3 version otherwise it would have no doubt performed better.
Slag off sixaxis all you want, but anyone would still have to admit it has its advantages over a regular controller with just rumble. I mean, its not as if we are missing anything except the force of a machinegun by not having vibrate, and well, if you miss the vibrations that much, you could always plug in your old controller (not for PS3 games) or alternatively buy a tickle me vibrating Elmo to vibrate in your arms as you play FF13, lol.
If we are taking steps closer into VR, this is the first step.
You just said that most if not all games that use the tilt sensor are not implemented well. Now, your telling us to it will be great.
I havnt played an PS3, but I've read and watch videos of critics talk about the controller, and all of them said it didnt work that well outside of racing games. It's an gimmick.
The problem I see about the controller is that the original Warhawk for the PS had a controller with rumble in it, also the Wiimote has rumble in it also. So why doesnt the PS3 have it? Because they got sued.
Anyways, the rumble is important because it gives feedback while shooting, which is really important. It seems wierd when you dont have it.
Overal, the motion sensor in the PS3 controller is useless. "Oh look, I just have to move my controller up to do an crossover dribble in NBA 2k7, oh wait, it doesnt work half the time and it takes longer to do that than to just press a button".

Nintendo couldn't compete with Sony? Since when? Nintendo has sold over 21 million DS. How many PSP have Sony sold again?
Total Nintendo DS games sold (as of 09/30/06): 103.60 million
Total PlayStation Portable games shipped (as of 2006): 47.3 million unit

So why on earth did you Bring up the Ds vs the portable shit player?

I wouldn't, I'd much rather have the vibrate function then a lazy ripoff of Nintendo's original, useful idea.

Nintendo didn't have to be there to compete for an award, do you think all people at the Emmy's/Oscars/MTV awards are always there? No... Sometimes they are off filming a movie and accept the award from halfway across the world.
Your point it moot.
