The actually adapter cannot, but it doesnt matter, you just plug the wire into the back of the 360.The adapter is first party hardware built by MS. Linkseye only does routers.
Pulse, please dont try to tell us that having GTA3 exclusive rights meant nothing to the PS2. It's common knowledge that GTA3 was the deciding factor for the majority of PS2 owners. You can spout everything about Eye Toy, and Jax and Dexter games, but the majority of people bought the PS2 for GTA3 games. Your saying that people bought PS2 for all these games, but the majority of them were out on the XBOX. Soccar games? Well, FIFA is on every major console.
I know when we got a PS2, it was for 2 reasons - GTA3 and FFX.

First off I already posted this, Secondly Saints Row is not a "the" must have game. I bought the game in August 06 and the game hasnt sold that well because its a GTA rip off with next gen graphics. The game does bring 1 or 2 new ideas but thats it nothing special or something to get all excited about.
Awesome. 😂

I don't think this has been posted here yet...
Formerly a PC-only release, a version of Spore will be heading to the DS. No release dates or other details were given outside of the confirmation of the upcoming games. In the past, Spore creator and Maxis chief designer Will Wright had expressed interest in bringing Spore to the DS and other platforms.

Originally posted by SmasandianSeriously, are you saying that the reason that the slimline PS2 sold out worldwide was all down to GTA? Why the PS2 upon first release had a high demand was all down to GTA? Saying that, I don't think I know anyone but Lana and a few Americans who bought a PS2 for GTA. However, I do know lots of people bought a PS2 not only for GTA but a wide library of games.
I think the majority of North American consumers were in the same boat.
GTA was popular, but you can't say by any means that the PS2's success was all down to GTA. Or that GTA was a hardcore system seller.
And no, not all of these games were available on other consoles, only the football games were, but even FIFA was loosing hold of the football market, people were turning to PRO EVO which was rather exclusive last gen, as well as many other titles. If anything, it was the exclusive titles people could get on the PS2 that people bought the PS2 for, the ones they could not get on the GC or Xbox.
NOW a lot of these games are multiplatform on the 360, so PS3 is a different story, it doesn't have the same position as the PS2 had, and I am certain it never will.
While GTA may have been a system seller in North America, I cant deny they, I don't live in North America, but I certainly know the situation over here, and it wasn't the same thing, and based on the success of GTA over in Japan, its pretty obvious to tell what the situation was like over there.
I think this is just a clash of both opinion and perspective. What you bought the PS2 for is not exactly the reasoning I bought the PS2 or others for that matter. As far as I can tell, the PS2 was selloing well long before GTA was even released. And it boomed further once Slimline was released, nothing to do with GTA, I have a house in Orlando Florida that we rent out to holiday goers, I remember the hell we had looking for Slimline PS2 over there, it took us a month to get hold of one. I'm pretty sure thats not all down to GTA and MGS alone, it was the case, why not pick up the Xbox, its cheaper then the Slimline and has GTA and MGS as well? 😖
Yeah, GTA3 was the major reason people bought the PS2 over the XBOX when it came out.
The fact remains when people had a choice to buy the PS2 in its second year, people chose the PS2 because of GTA3. All the other games you mentioned were bought because consumers already bought the PS2 because of GTA3.
Did I say that the reason why the PS2 was hugely successful was just because of GTA3? No, I didnt. I just said that people chose PS2 over XBOX because of GTA3 and thats the reason why I said its the major reason people bought the system in the first place.
Your also forgetting that FIFA is the most popular soccer game out there and it was on every major system.
Fifa is, but EA has lost a lot of popularity in the football / soccer genre over here, the games just arent as stimulating as they used to be and are way too easy to master, the talk is all about Pro Evo now, and if EA doesnt do something about it, it will be Konami sitting on top in terms of footy.
I was a Fifa fanatic, I was most unimpressed by Fifa 2005 after having all up to that point, and have since then not bought a Fifa game, even streets sucked and streets 2 sucked harder, in fact unless EA works to impress me again, I couldn't care less where Fifa goes, in fact, it wouldn't bother me if EA stopped Fifa completly.
I think that GTA3 was just one of the reasons why people picked up a PS2, but I have to disagree with you for the simple fact that Eye toy upon release attracted more attention and have more people uying the PS2 then GTA did, non gamers and girls started buying the PS2 just for Eye Toy, even my ex picked one up for Eye Toy, heck, even my geography teacher went out and bought a PS2 the same day that we brought my PS2 in for a charity tournament we had planned that day, and guess what she bought with it, Eye Toy.
Wii isn't selling well at the moment because of just the games, if that was so, people probably wouldn't bother with it having last gen graphics and all, but mainly because of the innovation that has been added, making all ages, all sexes all gamers want to try it out.
If you had said Eye Toy was a system seller, I would agree with you, GTA, yeah sorta, but I am pretty certain that had the PS2 not have GTA at all it would still have sold well. You almost make it sound as if GTA is the greatest game on Earth.

I bought a PS2 for...all the games. 🙂 Stayed for GTA once it came out though. But since GTA IV is coming to XBox 360, there is no reason for me to get a PS3.
Originally posted by PuzzleWell, seeing as theres nothing really to sceam about one PS3 as of yet ¬_¬ I'm least suprised. Only fanatics of certain games on PS3 are likely to buy it.

....For the time being anyway....
I doubt GTA is the be all and end all, there will be a GTA 5 as well as other Rockstar games 😖

Your ****ing kidding me?
Your saying the Eye Toy is a system seller, while GTA3 wasnt?>
See, your bringing in personal opinions into an arguement about facts. Cant do that. So you say you dont like FIFA, well that doesnt matter because FIFA outsells Pro Evo. You say that your teacher bought an PS2 for the Eye Toy...great, but I dont think anybody else did.
But its funny when you say that the Eye Toy was the system seller of the PS2, while GTA3 wasnt, even though, just by this one thread, we already had 2 people say they got an PS2 for GTA3, and another person saying the exact same thing as me.
The fact remains is that GTA3 was the major system seller for the PS2 and was the one the main reasons the PS2 outsold the XBOX.
i think that the ps2 outsold the xbox is simply because of game selection, the ps2 had waaaay more games than the gc and xbox, i mean did you ever look in the video game isles? half a row of xbox, a fifth a row of gc, and 2 full rows of ps2
GTA was a maajor seller for the ps2, but you could say the same for halo, GTA had 3 installments, halo had 2
and the fifa series has gotten ALOT worse
Actually, on which system has more games available...while the PS2 has more games than the Xbox, it's not a HUGE amount more. I can't remember the exact numbers, but I think the PS2 has about 1400 games, and Xbox has over 1000.
How I know this? We got bored at work and decided to find that out. Took the computers a good 5 minutes to come up with the entire list for each system 😛

haha, jeez
well then there is also the fact that ps2 had more advertising than xbox did, and also there were alot of fans that were sticking with the ps series because they loved ps1 so much
and then ps2 came out with all of those little things (eye toy, online stuff) and not that those sold well, but it was advertising for them

Its like comparing the hardcore gamer to the casual. Casual games usually sell better, doesn't necessarily mean they are better. And thats a fact, not an opinion.
Eye toy had more reasoning for others outside of gaming to pick up the PS2, thus boosting the PS2 sales. It wasn't the grand system seller, if anything, people picked up a PS2 because it had a whole listing of games, because 1 or two people say they picked up a PS2 for GTA in here, that doesn't mean the rest of the world did, the fact its on here makes that a secluded figure, the fact that we are talking North America buying the PS2 for GTA makes this again a secluded figure.
I still don't think this makes much sense anyway, seeing as it released on Xbox as well 😖 Plus Xbox had Halo, are you saying that people preferred a console with just GTA when they could get a console with both GTA and Halo? Thats just daft, if that was the case, why people didn't just go pick up and Xbox and get GTA later but still have Halo and Halo 2 is beyond me. There is lack of logic in that.
If thats the case, God of war and other such titles must have sucked and not been worth looking at.

He is talking about at the time that GTA 3 came out, he isnt saying that GTA 3 is still the only reason to buy a PS2. But at the time it was released it was basically THE reason to get a PS2. He is saying it helped lead to the huge lead took that led to the consistent sales.
GTA3 led to huge sales of PS2 which led to companies making great exclusives for PS2 because of the larger market.
