the PS3...I estimate sales at about 450,000...😐
Edit.
HOLY CRAP!!!! Johnny Chung Lee at it again. Last time, I made a thread about turning just about any dispaly surface into a whiteboard, now he is creating a nice VR setup:
I would love a game to use this. I can think of boxing as a great game for this type of feature.
Will we see cothing with LED lights on it? That would make for a great action adventure game. (You just reach for your right side and pull up a LED covered plastic gun or even just shape your hands into the gun you want to use and the game mimics that...etc.)

I saw this a few days ago and I would not be surprised if an FPS used this soon. It would not be hard to apply, and would really help get the shooter crowd behind the Wii.

Very much agreed.

Not really, at leat, imo.Imo, I think the Wii is taking this thing a little too far. Dunno.
I can see that perspective. I can also see something taking the envelope further and selling big like the Wii.
Many times, when I have been playing a game, the controls are just not fast enough or the game design does not have the ability to move like I think and move. I would utterly pwn at halo if I could shoot while running and aiming.(If only Halo came to the Wii.)..I hate using a controller for that...it is too clunky for me to get used to. (Target shoot and then play halo...it is a frustrating change.)
Also...
A few gamers could use the exercise of having to move around to play a FPS. I think the nun chuk could be used to move around your character and a modified Wii remote as a gun. (The Wii Zapper should do fine.) You would never have to pick your feet up...just dodge and look around. Of course, your TV would have to sit at about 3-5 feet to take advantage of looking around. I guess you could walk around in the room in a 5'x5' type of space and that could integrate as well.
A target shooting game would be fun.
The best application would be to play a game with a 150 inch viewable screen. (A projector, of course.)

Yeah 1 good game Motorstorm, and MGS4 when it arrives, 2 good games WOW.
You cant judge games that havent been released yet, Neo.
I'm a WiiS3 owner, and I'm very happy with my purchase, games & acessories in all including the Playstation Eye and Bluetooth headsets. The games look magnificent, and the music/movie storage capabilities are awesome. Plus, mine has Backward Compatibility, unlike some that dont. Big mistake on Sony's behalf, IMO.

Thats just you, though. What about the people's reflexes aren't fast enough to do that stuff, but they're good at using the controller?
A lot of people play video games to get away from reality.. there too fat to play Football so they buy Madden and pwnt at it.
I think the best choice of action would be too implement that feature, the one your talking about, but for every game that has it there should be an option to play it using the controller instead.

That was a great post. I really can't disagree with your point of view on that because it was well put.
I agree...just like smash brothers brawl, they should allow "legacy controllers" IF they come out with a setup like that. It only makes sense to do that.

Sure.
It looks cool but I just think it wont work for gaming. Not everybody has a big empty room to play games, or stamina to play a game standing up, or sqauting down and moving around for more than 4 hours (not everybody is athletic), what would happen for people who have bad knees, bad backs, injured in someway, or an laptop they cant put infront of thier tv. There's many things that could possible go wrong. Even having a TV with a bad viewing angle could possibly hurt the experience. There is also some sort of social thing on where you might look like a tool playing around.
It sure looks cool, but I personally dont want to play it like that. I try to relax while I play games and ducking and standing up repeatedly doesnt seem that fun. Even moving my head up and down in repeated motions for more than an hour doesnt seem that fun. It might be more immersives but that doesnt make it fun.
Also, didnt really think of this but what about the HUD, wouldnt that kidna of destory the immersive factor. There is some games out there that try to remove all that but still dont completely do that.

Fair point, and Sony did mess up by making some PS3's with no Backwards compatibility and to make it very expensive, and losing there exclusive deals, but as you have said it has allot of storage for movies and bluetooth headsets, even though this is a games console and most people want to play actual good games more then anything else, I will be sticking with my 360, and am sure it will win the console war, and you can't knock the Wii at all it has had some great games, that is the main reason I brought it for those great games.

I would normally agree, but this is the Wii. Are you going to deny that Nintendo created it fully intending to get people moving around? As far as bad knees and backs are concerned, well, are they playing the Wii anyway? Sure, there are plenty of games that require little in the way of movement, but several of the major games are designed for people willing and able to stand up and move around a bit.
Social thing? We're gamers. Forgive me if I don't see the point. Besides, fun is fun.
The HUD, I really don't think is an issue. Either go the way of most FPS and leave it there since it's rather essential to gameplay, or go the way of Metroid Prime and integrate it into the game as a helmet or eyepiece display.
True, if they can do it, then I'll try it.
I just dont think it looks that fun right now and I'm pretty sure it wont be done.
What major games involve standing up and moving around for the Wii. Twilight Princess, Mario, Metroid are the biggest games on the system and you dont have stand up and move around constantly. Wii Sports is the only good game on where you stand up and play but you can just do it on the coach.
But for an FPS, it will hurt over a few hours. No Wii games requires you constantly bend your knees and move around to avoid anything.
What I mean is that the 3d effect will also effect the HUD, and the showing of the gun. Those targets look closer than they appear so if you move closer to the TV, you could probably see around the HUD and gun which would totally take away the immersive factor.
All this is just another way of control your head movement and you can easily do it with a mouse and keyboard. You still need to move foward and sidestep. I remember seeing some tech very similiar to this in PC game and head tracking and if I remeber correctly, the reviewer that it was pretty pointless. Not very fun.
