I was going to say, there's no way that the 360 will have another price drop as it just did in August, but the price drop rumors are for in Europe. And are, btw, already old news 😛

I honestly don't believe you need the disc if you download the drivers, in that case. I certainly haven't used the disc on my Belkin... ever.

Xbox 360 Blu-ray Drive in Development?
April 2, 2008 - Quoting inside sources, DigiTimes yesterday reported on a story that the Taiwan-based company Lite-On is currently in development of an internal Blu-ray drive for the Xbox 360 game console. The same sources state that shipments of the drive will begin in the second half of 2008 along with the "next-generation of Xbox 360 game consoles," fueling speculation that a console more powerful than Xbox 360's currently high-end model, the Elite, could be on the way as early as this holiday.Microsoft has made conflicting statements regarding their Blu-ray intentions, but have offered the following comment:
Light-On is not manufacturing Blu-ray drives for Xbox 360. As we have stated, games are what are driving consumers to purchase game consoles and we remain focused on providing the largest library of blockbuster games available. For our customers who want a premium movie experience we offer the largest library of on-demand HD content available and the ability to play back DVDs in high definition.
🙄
I bought my PS3 a week after the launch date, so I have the 60 GB system with backwards compatibility. My question is since Sony is releasing a new 80 GB system, also with BC, do you imagine they will ever offer a kind of expansion hard drive for us who would, maybe, like more memory? Kinda like the 360 offers, you know?

I bought mine a week after the launch as well and yeah, I think they have to make some expansion hard drive if developers are gonna keep forcing (pretty much) craploads of GBs on to the hard drive just to 'install' a game because the bluray is apparently effing hard to read. Which why I don't think 360 games should use bluray discs for games in the future, because if 360 game developers would then they'd probably resort to the exact same thing and that'd force countless of gamers to upgrade their hard drives which is just plain stupid.

Yeah, the whole forced installation is pissing me off. On MLB 08 which forced an install, the game still takes ages to load up, so I dont see the benefit. Luckily thats the only game I play on PS3 currently so im not lacking in memory. 😛
